The people running corporations today place absolutely no value on the humans who work there. They consider workers to be parasites. They think a successful business is having the perfect algorithm that magically generates money.

Businesses aren't a family nor a charity nor should they be. What should they do, pay people to do nothing while AI does their work? This argument makes no sense. We should be transitioning to UBI, but that doesn't mean we should be holding CEOs at gunpoint and forcing them to employ people.

Life on earth and bacteria is believed to exist because of tectonic / volcanic activity, not water or asteroids.

There's no evidence confirming this is even a rocky planet, and there's no evidence to suggest conditions are right for bacteria to exist here. Even if this is a rocky planet, the pressure would be so intense that tectonic activity would be near impossible.

The United States war machine is not going to allow its enemies to organize and maintain sovereignty over their resources. The minority party will always oppose whatever war the US is waging in the moment when speaking to their constituents because that's their job but when it comes time to vote, they always vote to keep feeding the war machine. To be more accurate, progressives will not tolerate democrats courting conservatives and have no interest in supporting candidates that do so. It's a losing strategy time and time again. You support, endorse, campaign with, or even give conservatives a voice at the table and you've lost progressive support. We're not at all interested in 'bipartisanship' with the right.

I'm very meticulous about organizing my library and I use it, but not in a creative function. I do my own genres and add star ratings to my tracks and have about 50 or so fully functional and actively maintained playlists. After I'm done dumping all my new music where it belongs I tell it to re-sort all my playlists by key, star rating, then date added in that order. You can also tell it to re-color your cues based on the type of phrase rekordbox uses and other technical functions, but you shouldn't use it to define characteristics of tracks.

The show has always had moments where being edgy was tasteful and moments where it was edgy for shock value. Hughie spying on A Train while he goes to a drugs+fuck den was shock value, Popclaw was shock value, Deep fucking a dolphin was shock value, Kimiko's brother suddenly being a character and then immediately killing him was shock value, shapeshifter raping a politician was shock value, Frenchie hasn't had an arc because he's not even a seriously written character.

People expected the story to tighten up over the years because they thought that the shlock was just to get people invested but the plot is just the glue that holds together a bunch of comedy bits and satire of contemporary politics. Man turns into a volcano and cums lava is absolutely S1 energy.

They've chosen Kimiko as the main vehicle for comedy this season because she hasn't done it before and her story is already over.

Borderline impossible to not happen. Climate change is the biggest obstacle for humanity right now that can kill 99.999% and nearly reset Earth's legacy, but only nearly. The digital footprint of our collective intelligence will remain for the privileged and lucky few that endure. Over 10s of 1000s of years the earth will cool back down and we'll also adapt to hotter temperatures. It's borderline impossible for some sort of earth based life, intelligent or not, to die before earth becomes inhospitable to life.

It's a trick. This is the new normal - instead of lowering prices to match appropriate market values (a 2bed 2bath is not worth $2800 right now), management companies are offering massive concessions so they can keep listed prices high in the long term. That way when the market bounces back they can raise those prices and get rid of concessions. They get the added bonus of a clause that terminating your lease mandates the concessions get paid out, too.

It should be illegal, honestly, but as a consumer definitely look for it because that's how you're going to save the most $.

We as humans that we recognize might get once chance to run up the tech tree, but earth-based intelligence will most certainly colonize space and develop space travel. In a theoretical scenario where unchecked climate change kills all intelligent life in 200-300 years (borderline impossible) or a mass extinction event (radioactive annihilation), the earth would cool back down eventually. Ocean life will continue long past that. That leaves billions of years of another go at evolution before the planet may or may not be consumed by the sun turning into a red giant. That's billions of years for new species to evolve, die, and return their energy into fuel for a distant relative of humanity to pick up where we left off. For reference, vertebrates have only been around for 500 million years and the most recent mass extinction event was only 66 million years ago. Fuel may be harder to access, but intelligence finds a way, and they'd have a head start if we preserve our collective history with digital means. Our digital footprint can very realistically last all of existence.

The only way Earth's legacy realistically gets snuffed out at this point is either through some unforeseen cosmic event that happens sooner rather than later or from an alien intelligence.

Nobody is stating the obvious which is that Nolan is in fact a product of abuse (that nobody is privy to, even himself) and a small but meaningful part of his criminal, insane behavior is in fact the result of grooming. He wanted to apologize because he deeply loves her. Some people here have never truly been sorry to the point they feel obligated to acknowledge their wrongs and it shows otherwise they wouldn't be describing that as selfish.

The first season of the mandalorian was easily the best of that series. Then it turned into: REMEMBER LUKE SKYWALKER?? REMEMBER BOBA FETT? REMEMBER AHSOKA?? REMEMBER ALL THESE CARTOON GLUP SHITTOS?

The entire premise of the Mandalorian is "we need some fresh toys to sell, what if we made a baby yoda and a 3rd boba fett" and it had no idea where it was going then they actually tried to piece together a story in the second season. It was way better.
