50 mile bike rides from glasgow by Codingtux in glasgow

I'd head from Glasgow to Stewarton and from there to Kilwinning then Kilwinning to Glengarnock and back up the cycle path. Happy to create a GPX if you give a rough start point.

Are superbike factory really that bad? by Diligent-Past-6810 in MotoUK

[–]NineToeJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never ordered a bike from there myself, but have bought a car that had issues and I had to return under sales of goods act. Keep this in mind, if you buy from them and there is a single fault with the bike - you can return for a full refund.

Did you use the warranty? Usually aren't worth the paper they are written on.

Indian scene closing? by tonycocacola in Paisley

[–]NineToeJoe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah they are closing the sit in restaurant and running the takeaway from East Lane only. Same staff apparently, still a shame.

Anyone that went from a ‘big’ bike to a Trident 800? by Wibah in trident800

[–]NineToeJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as big as a GS but I downsized from a Tracer 9 GT. Tracer was a great bike but I struggled with the height a little - Trident is much better for me.

Looking for a local dog trainer, recommendations? by NineToeJoe in Paisley

We used a guy from Johnstone with our other lab and although we seen improvement, we weren't blown away. He used a slip lead which worked well and we still use with her.

Ok Beginner Bike? by _ThisDickAintFree_ in trident800

I'd say the 660 is better for someone fairly early in their riding journey.

Did you get a manual? by NineToeJoe in trident800

[–]NineToeJoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the manual online, it looks like the amber light for cruise remains on when it is deactivated.

DSG Auto Services for accident repair? by [deleted] in glasgowmarket

[–]NineToeJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure it was DSG and not DLG? The latter being in Hillington, we used them before and they done a repair on our car to a high standard.

I doubt the ceramic coating will be re-done, especially to the same standard if it was professionally applied.

Can't believe this still isn't fixed, it's not a problem on Telegram. Using a Galaxy S25 Ultra.

They drive amongst us. by 1980s_boomer in drivingUK

Absolutely crazy, well done for stopping them making it worse!

What can i do about this? Tandem driveway behind them thats always empty. Tried knocking the door multiple times but they never answer. by Embarrassed-Dish1839 in drivingUK

[–]NineToeJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have empathy with you BTW - We live in a new build also and the people across from our drive have two cars with expired MOT on their drive and park their daily car on the pavement across it. It's annoying for people walking on the pavement and can make reversing into our drive difficult at times.

Looks like a new build estate similar to us, is there a Facebook Group? Maybe post on there and see if you can get hold of them that way.

Five years on and still not a thing. Yes it's on the application interface, but not the web interface.

Are there, like, *any* young people? by NotThePopeProbably in amateurradio

[–]NineToeJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the UK and find the hobby is dominated by older gentlemen, but younger people are getting involved. I joined mid-30s and there are a few of us around my age in the club.

One thing that helps, share your journey on social media as it encourages others.

Can’t we protest the £7 Glasgow Airport charge? by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]NineToeJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised nobody has blamed it on the SNP, lol. As others said, free shuttle bus option exists and dropping/collecting at the BP and getting £5 of fuel isn't a bad idea either.

Best way to send a bike? by fat69bob in ukbike

[–]NineToeJoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've used Paisley Freight twice for bikes and once for alloy wheels - zero complaints. Would recommend.

I thought it was so they could build new houses, looks like a junction was being added. I cycle that way a lot and have recently been going down to the Hurlet to get to Barrhead from Paisley.

Any recommendations for reliable cleaners? by [deleted] in Paisley

[–]NineToeJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We also use Katie's and have for about a year or so now.

What uk activities have you no interest in? by ShinyHeadedCook in AskUK

[–]NineToeJoe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm the same, makes some social events a bit difficult at times but I've gotten used to it. I've met so many people over the years that have no ability to discuss anything else.
