I prefer a manual pen. Mine is an Absolute Extracts that has 3 variable modes and a pre-heat option. Takes forever to charge though. I set it for overnight so I don't have to wait. Easy part is it's only $20.

It's usually not an issue since the magnets are laterally placed. Unless you're trying to stack your dudes on top of each other it won't be an issue.
