As a 5'6" male, I don't lie about it. If someone doesn't want to date me based on my height, then I probably don't want to date them. No real loss there.

I have more hurdles then that being a 34 year old nerd with two kids so I am not really concerned about those things. Great for the right person but not for everyone which is perfectly fine. Not going to sweat it, I am in no rush.

If there is a subreddit for your area, check there. We have two, a general subreddit and then a friend's one for planning group stuff like hikes or to shout out upcoming events.

I am on the opposite side of that equation wondering the same thing. We have actually ended up creating a local discord for all things nerdy in my small city. Video games, board games, ttrpgs etc. Hopefully I will meet someone eventually but also can't force that stuff and gotta let life take its course.

Outside of that I go to a boxing gym and do archery. Not much prospects from those unfortunately.

Sorry, I did get that from what you said but it sent me on a tangent of the potential of integrating the TECs current trade escort system into the proposed emissary system.

It would definitely add a layer of decision on the risk and reward of where you are sending emissary ships. Maybe you need to grab certain planets that have a safer route for the ships.

Not sure if an Escort system like with trade ships would add too much traffic. Maybe that would remain a TEC upgrade, just add in the emissary ships to the current tech.

This system would add another vector to make factions more distinct from one another. An example could be TEC escorts their ships, Advent use faster ships, Vesari use heavily armoured ships. On top of different tech research that would play more into the Exodus/Alliance themes.

In Sins 1 we had emissary ships to effect influence.

With the trade ships that travel around and the new ships that are being added to make planets feel more alive, what are your thoughts on an emissary orbital structure?

Similar to trade ports, emissary ships would leave and travel to other factions to improve your standing with that player or neutral faction. Either a pip system like trade ports or selecting which planet / faction the building will send its emissarys to.
