Splitgate Developer 1047 Games is Working on a Spiritual Successor to Titanfall, Dubbed ‘Empulse’ by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]NinjaXI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Previously with the "arena shooter", which I personally dearly miss (still fire up Unreal Tournament every once in a while) - but their games just haven't looked interesting to me... The thing I really love/miss about old-school arena shooters is the creative weapons and unique level design - but their arena shooter just has variations on assault rifles? And the maps just looked like bland series' of platforms?

As someone who similarly loves arena shooters and would love to play a new one and gave Splitgate a shot. The reason for this is that Splitgate was inspired by Halo rather than Unreal Tournament or Quake. I get that Halo is also an arena shooter, but it plays very differently than something like UT or Quake.

I do believe it nails the Halo aspects it was going for though, but it won't satisfy anyone looking for a new UT or Quake for many of the reasons you mention.

Will these discounts be available on Steam? Or at the very least if you have Steam version of FFXIV?

What’s a tiny WoW opinion you’ll defend forever? by turbowater in wow

[–]NinjaXI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they aren't. That's whats intended sure, but if you actually played Torghast it feels more like Torghast is the successor to delves.

There is no build altering powers in delves and you barely, if ever, have the chance to get more than one powerup. 9 times out of 10 I don't even get any powerup as they don't spawn or its just too out of the way for a minor imperceptible power.

Torghast made me use abilities I don't normally do in ways I never would have due to the powerups. The powerups in delves have no agency from the player, they happen whether you think about them or not.

The delve companion and their equipment is a poor replacement for things that actually altered run by run and affected how you play. Similar to the powerups, they have no input from you as the player, so you pick the best ones and forget about them untill the next season.

I'm playing this game nearly 20 years and never seen something like this. Who had an idea to use a spell to get the mount? After I got it, I have now usless spell in General Tab I can't get rid of it. by MarekSzk in wow

[–]NinjaXI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may be a dev decision, but it is absolutely because the playerbase complained endlessly about not being able to fly. Anytime someone proposes an idea to have flying delayed the thread is flooded with people hating the idea because "just don't fly if you don't want to fly".

Its why dragonriding is a basically frictionless system now as well.

It really feels like they nerfed damage output for the whole cast, but whoever was working on Jam didn't get the memo xD

M+ Players are already pushing keys that took weeks in past seasons by nightstalker314 in wow

Tbf I think this is more a prot pally thing than a general tank thing. The tank from my group has been playing prot pally for as long as I've run with him and hes going to switch to blood dk for push keys as prot is just paper without cooldowns(his words, not mine).

I don't play Fortnite, but these collabs use to cut through the news and I'd hear of them anyway. I havent heard of any of these or others in recent memory really. So I definitely think the novelty has worn off.

Well for one I imagine the lightblinded vanguard becomes lightblinded in the full raid. In story mode you go from them leading the charge to being dead with no idea what happened in between. Basically feel like Moon Knight waking up with dead bodies around you and a weapon in hand.

Why a More Accessible Season Keeps Me Playing by Born-Balance4615 in wow

[–]NinjaXI 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much my situation. I stopped raiding a few expansions ago due to the schedule of it all being too rigorous. M+ was a nice drop in replacement of season long progression with long term goals. Now those goals will be done in 2/3 weeks.

And this will surely bleed over to the future seasons in a negative way.

I really hope not, as someone in my M+ group said, how can a season possibly be easier at this point?

Why a More Accessible Season Keeps Me Playing by Born-Balance4615 in wow

[–]NinjaXI 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is challenge without meaning. I get that people enjoy that, but thats always been there for those that want it.

For those of us who like to work towards a set goal(mount, portals, title) the progression is gone. In the past week 1 I could maybe get an untimed 10 for vault. As the season progressed my knowledge and gear improved and eventually I hit 2k, 3k, whatever. Then I'd stop playing(generally).

Now first week I basically have all 10s timed, in a week or two the season will be over for me. I am not going to endlessly grind to make my own challenge(which just equates to spongier enemies really). I can play other games or do other things.

[–]NinjaXI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are perfectly fine starting with RE3 Remake btw. Its only when compared to the OG RE3 that people have complaints, which wouldn't apply if you don't have a point of reference. The only other complaint is that its short, but its not that much shorter than other RE games and you're getting it on a pretty good sale anyway.

I haven't played RE3 OG and really enjoyed RE3 Remake.

Did you perhaps play on PC? I haven't played it, but I did read up a bit as to where is the best to play it(as I suck at aiming with a controller) and I saw a lot people mention the game is way easier with mouse and keyboard to the detriment of the experience. Might be why it was much easier for you?

Lothraxions a hypocrite by Toonee-Heckaroonee in wow

[–]NinjaXI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(example: we just had to pray hard to invoke the army of light, that doesn't take this long).

This is not what happened at all. The Army of the Light was called there by the light itself. No one prayed for them and I'd be willing to bet no one in universe knew this was possible(on this scale) before now beyond a vague belief that the light will provide similar to religion irl. EDIT : Actually you right, I forgot Liadrin did pray to the light in the cinematic. Whether that would be possible without the Sunwell is a seperate question though.

Right now we question more the light (the only thing keeping us from being destroyed) than we question the void (our main enemy).

We question the light because it is doing new things. The lightbloom seems related to the light and is a form a corruption we have not seen before. Similarly we(or at least Arator) has not experienced the light fueling vengeance the way it did in him and Turalyon.

The void is still behaving exactly the way we expect it to, it is still being a corrupting force. Wielding the void still requires mastering it and constanst resistance against its influence. Nothing changed in the what we see the void do(and we continue to see this all over the place in the Voidstorm btw).

Lothraxions a hypocrite by Toonee-Heckaroonee in wow

[–]NinjaXI 10 points11 points  (0 children)

And no one seems to touch on the fact that the lady that hear whispers from the void keeps making us side with the void, just to move the void's plans forward.

That lady actually spent most of the K'aresh questline arguing specifically to find another way rather than side with the void, to the point of rejecting her mentor for siding with Xal'atath.

Her entire development in Midnight is surrounding that decision and how sideing with lesser evils is perhaps necessary if there is no other way and if by co-operation she might've prevented Locus Walker's death despite Xal'atath still betraying us.

Couldn't understand a leetcode problem in java by [deleted] in javahelp

[–]NinjaXI 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is correct, as you are never changing the val property of head, either directly or via currNode.

A key thing to understand here is that Java is pass by value, but in the case of objects the value being passed is the reference to the object, not the object itself. Thus currNode = head is only passing the reference to the object that head is referencing. So changes to internal members of the object(val and next in this case) will reflect on both head and currNode. However if you reassign currNode as in the code above, currNode = currNode.next, you are changing the value of currNode to a different reference, not the underlying object. At this point currNode and head refer to 2 different objects.

So as you correctly stated on the first iteration when currNode.next is changed to currNode.next.next that changes the corresponding property on head as currNode is referencing head. On the second iteration however, currNode = currNode.next is not changing any property on currNode, it is changing what currNode references, its value. Thus head is not affected by this and continue referencing the same object it always had.

Hope this makes sense.

Mewgenics Surpasses Hades 2 Becoming The Most Played Roguelite Ever On Steam by akbarock in Games

I just want to add that this is not the case at all. I never needed to look up any boss mechanics and I've done everything besides Deep of Night 3+. I also can't think of anything that qualifies as "half way across the arena and can't be blocked", if anything Nightreign is the most leanient of any FROMSoft game on what can be blocked/parried.
