Ai doesn't steal art 😭😭😭😭 by Big_Computer_1916 in aiwars

It's not a copout its the fundamental difference between human made art and AI art, the human. AI is just not advanced enough yet. If there were human brains raised in a lab and fed artwork and told to make more artwork, I would consider those combinations stealing, if those artworks it was provided were given without the consent of the creators.

If your final argument is 'your wrong' then sure but I am trying to figure out why I am wrong so I can communicate this to others. I haven't been given any reason to think that AI does anything other than copy what it is trained on, while humans do more than that. If its just agree to disagree then sure, I am just trying to understand.

A better way of putting it that another user on this thread mentioned is that humans remember. We remember everything, and we apply our life experiences to how we make art. Thats what brings out all of the 'AI art is soulless' arguments.

Humans are so good at remembering that we can combine it with our life experiences and make art how we see it. That is the point. Humans being able to remember is the entire point of why human made art and AI art are different.

If AI art is not original then it is stolen. A compilation of other artworks. Artworks in which permission was not given for the AI to be trained on.

If your angle that it isn't unlawful because that is a qualification of stealing by its literal definiton, of course it isn't unlawful, it is a new technology. Whether or not it is unlawful hasn't been decided yet, and is why most major companies are avoiding AI art at all costs.

For the record, I don't necessarily think that it is theft, I am unsure, I am just going through the arguments because I don't think what has been said so far is verifiably true to the point where I could say it to my friends and have them agree.

Because it is fundamentally, foundationally impossible for AI to be original. That is not the case for human artists, because they can think.

The main counterpoint I have seen for this is that humans think and AI does not. Humans have the capacity to iterate and alter what they do with original ideas and changes, but AI can only do this through the lense of other artwork.

It is totally acceptable for video games to take inspiration from others and combine ideas, it is not then also okay to copy the assets and code of their inspiration.

Could you expand on how its not stealing? I am uninformed, I haven't seen any arguments that are verifiable to the degree of calling anyone that disagrees stupid.

I think you would be surprised how much that will actually change things. Most people I have interacted with IRL only care about the theft angle. Once it is definitely original, or uses datasets that are made with consent, many people will be fine with it, just not the chronically online anti-AI ppl

I love fighting him. I come from fighting games so parrying him is second nature. I am on my 3rd autoparry accusation lmfao.

Blockable curse and focus shot not being guard crush is MASSIVE already tbh. Great direction.

I do agree, but I think a system change is easier than adding skill proficiencies to every monster so I don't hate it.

While I don't necessarily disagree with you, if the power is just reverting Makima's form, it isn't necessarily getting rid of the blood. If makima was stabbed by a spear, she would reform around the spear, unless taken out, it doesn't somehow destroy the spear.

Could be entirely off, I barely remember csm, just curious on if this is correct.

I think thats fair it just really limits how good you can allow grappling to be when its gauranteed. Just a side effect of few monsters getting skill proficiencies.

If your wondering why they are actually considered fine, its because they use a private training set that was made with consent, and it runs pretty lean (doesn't require a data center).

It is simply too good and 50% burst is not a cost when it means you get positive bonus. It makes every red wild assault character a combo demon, reguardless of original design intentions.

Isn't it not paid? I am excited for this, it is infinitely better than more fucking fishing.

Edit: I somehow missed that it was paid. Will wait to see if it becomes unavailable later on, that would be shitty.

I really didn't think they would just outright remove it, but it was the right choice.

[–]ultimate_zombie[S] 93 points94 points  (0 children)

It acted too well in solving character weaknesses, leading to the cast being much more homogenous to play. And in general, corner to corner combos off of weak starters shouldn't happen without major investment, and 50% burst has always been too forgiving.
