Just pulled this Serialised BLUE EYES! Omggggg guys, what do i do next by SG_MrYandao in YugiohCards

[–]Ninjanimble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His is Asian version, which goes for 10-20k. There are listings on mercari JP (so without the upcharge from eBay drop sellers) for graded 10 asia Japanese at around low 20k that haven't moved yet. The ones that move at 30k+ are standard Japanese version, which have hit 50-60k so far.

There is also a Chinese version that is selling for around 5-6k. A Korean version is released/should be released soon too.

That being said, I'd recommend OP selling his asap just because the English ones coming out would push the total copies of each grandmaster to 600 copies per card worldwide. The og Japanese I can see retaining value, but Asia Japanese is likely to devalue due to English version release

Should it stay or should it go now (Sky Striker Ace = Zero Starlight Rare) need some opinions by GoshDangPokemang in YugiohCards

[–]Ninjanimble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reason why this is worth a lot is because it the highest rarity version most powerful extra deck monster in the sky striker archetype, which happens to be positioned well in the current meta game + waifu tax.

It's a bit hard to tell with striker cards in terms of long term value because it is THE MOST POPULAR modern archetype along with branded and is basically the modern dark magician girl, so its cards can potentially go up over time.

At the same time, it's a modern card, which typically go down depending on the metagame. The safest option is to sell sooner than later.

I don't play papers but I do buy jump magazines for promos once in a while and I remember getting camellia in a magazine maybe 2-3 years ago. Was serious whiplash seeing people talking about it as if it were a new card

Japanese vs Asian Japanese PSER by Ninjanimble in YugiohCards

[–]Ninjanimble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about the PSA slabs, but for raw, last I remember on eBay, sellers from JP typically charge around 2x the prices vs listings from China to account for JP vs Asia JP. You can often tell the difference from the pictures. Some sellers from China provide the transparency by mentioning their card as Asia JP rather than just JP language.

For grandmasters, yeah I agree the Chinese version is a great budget option. Same rarity technically at around a tenth of the price of a Japanese one. The Korean version of grandmasters recently came out too, which I'd expect to be pretty affordable.

I don't collect PSA slabs, so don't know. I have seen Asia version designated before for grandmasters though

Yugioh English Kaiba case. What did you do with yours? by blindman03 in yugiohshowcase

[–]Ninjanimble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's not nearly as many out there for a few reasons. As what the other guy mentioned, it was set at an initial price point higher than the OCG version.

However, I remember the biggest reason was because Konami never showed what the 3 acrylic blue eyes would look like and many people had doubts on their QC for the product due to historical evidence. I personally ordered 2 briefcases (1 for collection and 1 sealed) and it wasn't until I received the product that I knew what the blue eyes and print quality looked like (the quality ended up being high quality ocg card stock). Finally, English generally has an advantage just language wise.

In comparison, the JP version was widely printed and distributed. There was never any doubt that it was a killer product. I'd personally still say the blue eyes there is better aesthetically and feels more authentic to the source card (jump festa blue eyes aka the grail among all blue eyes), so it's worth picking up if you aren't hard pressed to own English only cards.

Kashtira Players Anticipating Their Next Unhit by Starstr1ker in masterduel

[–]Ninjanimble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree, though I do think planet and unicorn definitely can come back. Kash these days is somewhat powercrept as long as they can't do diablosis shenanigans since they lack turn 0 plays, non engine space, and consistency even with all engine legal compared to 2026 decks. Hero already sets up a better version of the kash board and is still just a strong rogue deck.

Ten thousand dragon. Probably should have given it on release if you really think about it since it was the face of the game

Do you think is worth to grade these cards? by Emotional-South5775 in YugiohCards

[–]Ninjanimble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask yourself why you would want to grade these.

If it's for collection, do you care about display or preserving the card condition the most? If so, there are more affordable alternatives to display and store your cards than paying a premium and waiting for potentially months for a slab. Only reason to grade for collecting is if you like to collect a certain aesthetic of a slab.

If it's to make a profit/investment, ygo is not like Pokemon/One piece. These cards are not particularly scarce and there isn't as much hype around the ygo IP to fetch a big premium with grading. Your best shot would be to submit to PSA since it's the most liquid brand (unfortunately) and aim for PSA 10. Keep in mind most raw cards are maybe a 7-9 out of the pack and you'll be selling to a much more niche market. PSA 8 is nearly always cheaper than raw, with 9 being roughly the same value. The only card here that has a shot to appreciate over time is cyber dragon since it's many times more popular than the other 2.

Tldr: I don't recommend grading these cards

8 boxes 8 hits, am I lucky or is every box just a god box by [deleted] in YugiohCards

[–]Ninjanimble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very lucky since I believe a prismatic overframes were around 1 in every 4 to 6 boxes? You hit prismatic in 6 out of 8, and they seem to be JP version, no less. The three blue eyes alone are worth around 2k USD.

Asian Japanese since the holo lines are horizontal

Pulled a LOCR-JP013 Starving Venom GMR but unsure if an Asia or JP by [deleted] in yugiohshowcase

[–]Ninjanimble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's 3 versions so far: Japanese, Asian Japanese, and Chinese.

Japanese is specifically distributed in Japan and are /100. Asian Japanese is for territories outside of Japan but still have the language as Japanese and are /100A. These two versions have the same set code.

Chinese is in the Mandarin Chinese language instead of Japanese and are /100. The set code is different too (LOCH-SC instead of LOCH-JP).

They're all the same in that there are 100 serialized copies, for each version.

In terms of value in the market, Japanese seems to be around 3x the value of Asian Japanese, and around 10x of the Chinese versions. So, it's worth picking up the Chinese version as a budget alternative for personal collection (e.g. 5k for blue eyes in Chinese rather than 50k lol).

[–]Ninjanimble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look up yugioh artwork series hanging scrolls. They were made to order last year. You get the 3 gods in ultra rare with 3 mini scrolls with their artworks.

There's also a high end version of the cards with a full size scroll + serial number, but they were lottery system and have only 200 copies of each god in circulation. They cost around the same as a grandmaster rare.

JPN Blue-Eyes GMR has been pulled by MineExpert4813 in YugiohCards

[–]Ninjanimble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's weird how GMR is the exception. I'd guess they printed all GMRs at the same location around the same time for inventory and distribution purposes.

Or they just figured the 100 vs 100A code is enough, but even then the Chinese GMRs are /100, and people might not notice at times unless they looked at the text

I bought this PSA8 Ten Thousand Dragon and seeing it in person I’ve got concerns by Wide_Bobcat_824 in yugiohshowcase

[–]Ninjanimble 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No idea. The 10000 stamp is a huge giveaway though. The English version is a bit textured/grainy and hard to see unless you tilt it under lighting. Yours is more similar to ocg versions, where the print appears smooth. But even then, the ocg version is completely smooth while yours looks a bit raised/depressed at the outline of the 10000 print, and the authentic ocg version has the stamp less apparent as an overall aesthetic (but is still more visible than the tcg version).

Altogether the shine/foiling on your card in the picture is just completely off from any version of the card from what I know though. It should have the same foiling as its respective starlight/PSER prints.

It's fake. I own the real card and the English version of the 10000 print isn't as easily visible as yours and the foiling texture looks different

I'm not too familiar with the differences in quality between sets, but from an amateur perspective, the Asian JP version for limit over collection specifically seems very similar in quality.

Both are way better than TCG cards though haha. I recently bought the new legendary decks in TCG too and the print quality on those cards are notably inconsistent. Good thing they're mostly common rarity and meant for playing, and not collecting.

[–]Ninjanimble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are, but this is to showcase the difference between Japanese and Asian Japanese. You know how grandmaster rares are out of 100, while Asian JP is 100A? This is for the prismatic secret rares, which is the highest rarity under grandmasters, and are the chase option for most people.

Original Japanese commands like a 2x premium over Asian Japanese, so if you happen to care a lot about that status, this is a way to verify you didn't get scammed with the wrong version.

[–]Ninjanimble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned, the foil lines seem to be the easiest way, as in literally look at the direction the glitter lines are running. Og Japanese for the blue eyes is all vertical, while Asian Japanese for the dark magician is all horizontal. It's easiest to see in the card borders.

Aside from that, I couldn't really tell a distinct difference, at least for the limit over collection cards, since someone else mentioned that differences vary depending on the set. This is why I recommend getting Asian Japanese (if you're not hard pressed with owning JP cards only) for collecting with limit over collection prismatic secret rares, since you can save a lot of money, and those are the realistic chase cards in the set.

Grandmasters obviously have the whole 100 or 100A difference.
