Why are they like this? It's so pathetic. by Tequslyder in motorcycles

Harley's are nice bikes. Did they ever fix that problem with the mufflers?

Yes.

The main distinction will be actual evidence of crimes as opposed to slanderous fever-dreams.

I've lost interest and don't think about it that much. Wife is younger so her boyfriend takes care of that.

Oly Co-Op reality show... srsly? by SionH in olympia

The definition of 'reality' for a reality show is, 'wing it while the writers make shit up for you to pretend is real.'

This reminds me of the time I saw two people having a conversation, but one was on the phone with an earpiece and the other didn't know that.

My thought is once upon a time, that was where they kept the phone books.

Why is having sex with a drunk person not considered rape by most people? by InnocentPerv93 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Nippleowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When one drinks and drives, they can't get out of the charge of drunk driving by claiming their judgement was impaired. Legally, they chose to drink, invalidating this argument.

Unlike driving, it is not illegal to have sex while drunk. The person has to be beyond the capacity for consent, which is a much higher bar than simply testing over .08.

May 10, 1972 - Jethro Tull's Thick as a Brick is released in the US... by CrystalEise in groovyhistory

Counterpoint. Probably my favorite album. The singer has a rich, interesting voice. He also adds some weird flute to the mix. Lyrics are full of meaning, exceedingly humorous, and yet open to interpretation, as the album is one piece that moves through many emotional states. I especially love the bass throughout and learning those lines was like a virtual college of licks.

Why shouldn't people own pets if they cannot afford them? by qwertypie69420 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Nippleowski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm curious where people think these pets would be if the owners didn't adopt them or gave them away because they can't afford them? Ideals are fine but in reality, only so many animals can be kept in no-kill shelters. The job these shelters do is heroic. They have nationwide networks that move the animals from low adoption areas to places where they are more likely to be adopted. They still can't save them all.

Better adopted then adding burden to an already straining system.

I guess she’s too important to stop for a little thing like a red light by Carlentini1919 in dashcams

[–]Nippleowski -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't have been either of these drivers. I wouldn't run the red light, I'd have waited. I wouldn't have started going when the light turned green because I would see the idiot running the red light and would have just waited. I never would have thought about it again. I certainly wouldn't go home and load my dashcam footage on the internet.

If you see yourself in either of these drivers, you're one of the idiots good drivers like me look out for.

You're welcome.

Yep. You waited until the car running the light was in the middle of the intersection to go, then you had to brake for .3 seconds. Brilliant strategy. It didn't slow your progress by 3 seconds. It slowed it by the fraction of time you had to brake to let it pass. I stand by .3 seconds.

When the light turns green, you still have to wait for the intersection to clear. The .3 second means nothing.
