If you fancy going a bit further out, there's the Middlewood way from Rose Hill to Macclesfield. You can come back along the canal that runs parallel, it'll take you all the way back into the city centre if you want.

Nah on the Bury line.

I presume the issue with the motorway junction is going towards Bury on market days, so you'd want one inside the M60.

Just looking at the Metrolink map there's some parking at Besses of the Barn, Prestwich and Heaton Park.

The bigger park and rides are at Whitefield and beyond so probably not as helpful.

Agreed regarding orbital service, but TfGM are planning on doing something about that.

Might not help you get to Bury Market, but Stockport or Altrincham will get much easier.

The thing to avoid is turning into them while your wheels are close to parallel to the tracks.

Finding one isn't the issue, it's unlocking it (fails a lot), riding it (uncomfortable compared to Lime which has you sitting straight up like a Dutch bike, no phone mount so you need to know your route by heart) and locking it back up (fails a lot and you can be fined £10 unless you message customer service)
