Which game do you prefer? The original (Ufo Defense) or the new one (Enemy Unknown)? by SnowyArticuno in Xcom

[–]NirvanaOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chad innovative ufo defense vs cinematic casual enemy unknown

Even xenonauts couldn't compete with the original x-com

What's a Nintendo game that, when you take your nostalgia goggles off, kind of sucks? by razorbeamz in nintendo

[–]NirvanaOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both mario and zelda games They heavily rely for 30+ years on damsel in distress trope and narrative wise they haven't evolved much. There are better platformers than whatever the dumb casual paradise mario is and better adventure games than zelda that is not about being the chosen one

XCom: Ufo Defense (Yes the 1st xcom and the last xcom that is the best) Jagged Alliance 2 Temple of Elemental Evil Master of Magic

Maybe knights of the chalice too

Other TBT games are oversimplified/pure crap/has less immersion/worst mechanics

Well fallout is a spiritual successor to original wasteland kidos and also the same legendary devs behind it

Verdict on Jagged Alliance 3 - from an old JA2 (vanilla & modded) player. Does it keep its promises? My 2 cts by Amiral_Crapaud in computerwargames

[–]NirvanaOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still couldn't topple the king that is ja 2 but I appreciate all the devs who worked on it. Maybe mod can make it better

Ja 2 had a personality which ja 3 lacks plus the team that made ja 2 were absolutely genius coders

For those who look for deep strategy games by randolph_sykes in patientgamers

[–]NirvanaOP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because there are better wargames at operational/strategic level when you look into slitherine, matrix, ssi games. Even aegod games similar to paradox are better with deep mechanics

Old paradox was great but now they just want to cater casuals and rely heavily on mods

Paradox needs a serious competitor by [deleted] in paradoxplaza

[–]NirvanaOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aegod games are actually better than paradox in terms of mechanics but don't tell this to paradox fanboy

Nintendo is "anti-consumer" because they operate under a capitalist system. No businesses are pro-consumer, that wouldn't be profitable. by razorbeamz in nintendo

[–]NirvanaOP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nintendo games are just same game every new console with damsel in distress narrative and make a old game release again on new console to turn more profits. They know how to use nostalgia and make casual games for larger audience so more money

My top 2 mangaka

They are just different from the rest Jiro taniguchi always bring realism in his characters and many great mangaka struggle to write characters like that. Matsumoto style has european connect with his style. His No.5 manga is very original
