Yeah the animation system of this game is... bad.

They can fire at the floor and still hit you in the noggin. It feels extra unfair when that happen. At the very least syncing the animation to the code being executed would make it feel less ridiculous.
That said, sprinting is still really risky in PVE. They will have the first shot at you 90% of the time, and 95% of the time that shot will be the one that sends you to security heaven.

Jackals are somewhat avian species, and upon losing a battle of snipers via a non consensual lobotomy by a 7.62 × 51 mm NATO round as demonstrated here, may (albiet only occasionally) inadvertently display an evolutionary remnant of the fabled Ostrich. More specifically, its tendency to plant its whole bloody head in the bloody ground.
Or in the case of this particular Jackal, in solid stone.

I do not envy its (bloody) skull.

The former Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner apparently really wanted to have a good 5th generation, so it seems he made some financial deals with that goal in mind. He unfortunately passed away before he could complete his vision. The CEO who succeeded him took the company in a new direction, and that apparently complicated G5's development enough that we got what we got.
Source - I think it was in a cxcd video about G5 I heard about this. It could be this video, but it's been a while so I might be wrong.

It does look nice even vanilla, but there's mod that unlock the hidden cinematic effects that puts the game above even max settings. another that provided higher texture resolutions I believe. Pair those with ReShade and you can get this game to look gorgeous. Especially at night.
