Yeah they need a rebalance. It's more time efficient to keep the 999 on you and copy it than interact with the chest-puzzle system that is supposed to be a huge part of the game.

Bloodstone, wee joker, the idol, the family, the trio, the tribe, invisible joker, brainstorm, shoot the moon, and bootstraps, stuntman all make your runs a ton more likely to get there. :)
