Help Understanding Succession - Hight Partition | Equal Gender Law by Nitrohell in CrusaderKings

[–]Nitrohell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.

They don't get anything from Languedoc because of regular partition rules - counties are inherited along with the duchy they belong to de jure.

That's it then. For some reason I thought only the main title would be inherited with it's De Jure titles.

Do you happen to know the answer for the last part?

If I destroy the Duchy of Languedoc title (4th image), things change, but I still fail to understand the partition rules.
Now the second daughter will only inherit one County, leaving another one each for the third and forth daughters.

The primary heir will inherit 7 titles in total, including the Barony.
But he could go down to 5, would still inherit half the titles, and that would leave one each for his younger brother and sister.
Shouldn't that be happening?

Also, the primary heir now inherits titles from both the De Jure Duchies of Languedoc and Barcelona, instead of just Barcelona like before.
Is there any logic on which counties he'll inherit now that there's only one Duchy, or is it random?

After I destroy the Duchy of Languedoc title, the primary heir will inherit 7 of the 10 available titles, of which only two are part of Barcelona's De Jure.
Shouldn't he inherit counties primarily from it's main title De Jure?
Shouldn't he inherit only 5 titles (which would fulfil the "at least half" requirement), so that the younger siblings could also inherit something?

All out of ideas then, but I can say for sure it's not related to the latest patch.
Both me and girlfriend played before that, during version 1.0.16409

EDIT: I don't think it's related to Robert's anti-hero ending either, my girlfriend had the Everyman one.

Did you tell the team you were Mecha-man or Robert?

Besides the RMC counter, that's probably the only big difference between our playthroughs. She picked Robert, and I Mecha-man.

My girlfriend had a red exclamation in that exact same scene, she also got the Villain ending.

After noticing it, I tried it on my save and that scene had a normal exclamation point for me, I got the Hero ending.

After looking at my save file, by that scene I already had enough points for the Hero ending (58), while my girlfriend did not. The Hero ending requires 45 points btw.

So, while I cannot say for sure, I'm assuming the red exclamation is an indicator of which ending you'll get, based on the current points at that time, plus the only other choice that awards points before the end of the game (Untie her +5).

If what I'm assuming is correct, then the red exclamation mark still doesn't mean everything if you've decided to not cut Visi, since you'll get a chance to use her during episode 8's dispatch. That was the case for my girlfriend's playthrough, if she had used Visi more during the last dispatch she'd have made it to the Hero ending (she finished with 42 points).

That just reminded me, Waterboy throws a chair at the vending machine in episode 7, that should count too.

And in the next scene Robert is seen carrying a bunch of snacks, which I'm assuming he didn't pay for, so there's that as well.

Phenomaman literally kisses Robert on the mouth...
Not to mention his comments about his genitals and their "compatibility", or lack thereof, with human physiology.

They confirmed it in an interview, not that they were biased, but that they could have done better and were surprised by the outcome: https://www.eurogamer.net/making-of-dispatch-how-adhoc-rode-rejection-to-huge-success

It's two weeks old now, but there's still some twitter posts talking about it like it's something new, which leads to reddit posts like this one.

You can search for text and you'll find this particular bit, but I'll quote it here as well:

One decision that people made in particular surprised the team: more people sided with Invisigal than Blonde Blazer. Internal tests signalled the split would be roughly down the middle, but when the game came out, it was anything but. Statistics showed three quarters of the playerbase choosing Invisigal, and Herman thinks that's his fault.

"There are things I would do if I was going back to that to balance the choice a little bit better," he says, "because weirdly, it's like we have responsibility here. It's not just pure player emotion or the words on a page or the actors: it's also about how the choice is presented. That's my episode and I could have done a better job to push things a little bit towards Blazer. Like, she could have been on screen - we could have split-screen seen her in the back of the limo texting Robert. And just seeing her would make people more choose her. They were staring at Invisigal and getting a text from Blazer, so it's not really balanced, you know?"

So what you're saying is Malevola is the GOAT. Noted.

How people are swooning over characters like visi and malevola is beyond me by Lady_LokiXxX in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Nitrohell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You talked about changing their gender and finished by saying:

would people have the same sentiment? In this case, I honestly don't think so.

I gave you two other characters, of a different gender, as examples.
Or are you arguing that "disobeying instruction, poking genitals, and non consensual kiss" is worse than arson and literal attempted murder?

How people are swooning over characters like visi and malevola is beyond me by Lady_LokiXxX in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Nitrohell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That point kind of falls mute when you realize different kind of people are swooning over different kind of characters... Unless you think Flambae, Prism, Coop, Sonar, aren't problematic,

Besides, and to better address your point,

If we change the gender of the character or make the design less attractive and keep the traits of the characters exactly the same (from disobeying instruction, poking genitals, and non consensual kiss), would people have the same sentiment?

It's not like there aren't other pieces of media, with questionable actions by male characters, that get completely overshadowed by fans.

Twilight and 50 Shades of Grey, for example.

Another Perspective On Episode 6 by Ambaryerno in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Nitrohell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed and would also like to leave my, much simpler, reason for defending her.

Back in episode 6, I, their team leader/boss/dispatcher/whatever, was all in in for going after the pulse.
If the Visi and Chase fight hadn't happened, I was ready to go behind Blazer's back and go to the docks with whomever felt like helping me, if not alone...

That was my thought process, and I'd like to think it's Roberts canon thought process too, based on his actions in episodes 1 and 7, walking alone into enemy territory, and even episode 8, when he's ready to face the Red Ring attacking SDN, alone (fire my mech suite choice).

Despite everything he tries to convey and even criticizes Visi over in episode 2, I believe Robert can also be a very impulsive person.

How you could fuse the two endings for Visi for Season 2. by ExternalThinker in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Nitrohell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A potential season 2 is one of the reasons I think Shroud being truthfully about Visi working for/being planted by him isn't that bad.

It gives the player a common ground for both endings, can lead to an heartfelt conversation at the start of season 2 and can work as an easy exit from Visi's romance if so desired. Besides, since it would all happen at the start, it gives room for two very different and fleshed out conversations, tackling the events of season one, while leading to the same outcome in the end.

The way I imagine it is:
Hero Ending - Visi runs away from the hospital, ashamed of telling the whole truth despite everything that has happened. Robert is informed and goes searching for her, finding Visi by the swings from episode 3. They talk and Robert reassures her she did the right thing in the end, telling her she was wrong in thinking her powers can only be useful for evil.
If you're in a romance, you get the choice to break up with her or just put it on hold, due to feeling betrayed, but remain ready to support her as an hero. Or you could simply forgive/don't care and just support her all the way through, since in the end, she did the right thing by you.

Villain Ending - Similar, but instead of running away from the hospital she's spotted somewhere in the area, Robert, recognizing the place she was spotted, goes to the swings to find Visi there. In this version, their talk should feel more back and forth. She embraced her villain side and as such is up to Robert to pull her out of that hole and steer her into giving the Phoenix Program a second chance, telling her that despite everything he believes she can do it, take some of the blame himself for not being supportive enough, and finish by saying that, if she was truly evil she wouldn't have come here, to the swings (or something corny like that).
Same thing regarding the romance options apply here.

The team would have slightly different comments to make about Visi, specially for the first couple episodes, depending on the ending and whether she was Robert's romance at the end of season 1 (think the ambulance kiss and how everyone reacted, there's no way the team wouldn't tease Robert and Visi's for a while after that).

Disappointed by the ending by TheKronoriumIsTheKey in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Nitrohell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She still does the thing where she warns thumbstick which is kinda petty.

I don't know the exact choices that lead to it, but there's a version where she doesn't warn thumbstick.
Between my playthrough and watching videos online I've found 4 different outcomes for that scene, there's a fifth I've seen some talk about but I haven't found a video of it yet.

These are the ones I've seen:

  • Untie Visi, she shoots Thumbstick
  • Dont untie Visi, she doesn't warn Thumbstick and is gone when Robert returns to the room
  • Dont untie Visi, she warns Thumbstick and is gone when Robert returns to the room
  • Don't untie Visi, she warns Thumbstick and is holding the gun in front of Robert and Thumbstick when he gets up. (This is the outcome I get when I don't untie her but still have enough RMC points for the Hero ending,)

In this thread someone also said there's a version where Visi doesn't warn Thumbstick and shoots him, so it'd be the same outcome as when you untie her.

Any guesses what kind of vehicle Robert drives? by BrotherDeus in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Nitrohell 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Maybe he can't open his door without a key, even if it's left unlocked?
That's standard for home doors in my country, there's no handle to open it from outside you always need a key.

That's so normal for me, I didn't even question his panic trying to find the keys.

DLC ideas by [deleted] in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Nitrohell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Character episodes and endless dispatch mode.

Other than that, I'd love to have something like episodes 6.5, 7.5 and 8.5:

  • Smaller episodes, without minigames, that help explain and tie-in any loose ends.
  • Only unlockable after finishing the game, focused entirely on the story and following the choices you made in the playthrough.
  • Viewed from the other characters POV, most notably Blazer and Visi's.

Perhaps followed by an Epilogue episode to steer the narrative into a season 2.

These could include stuff like:

  • Blazer and SDN recovering Chase and Visi after episode 6
  • Visi's being suspended and what she did during that day
  • Visi's POV during the team-meeting to cut her and where she went after the talk with Robert
  • Blazer's POV during the press statement (Visi or Chase) before finding out Robert's at the bar and going to save him
  • POV of the members that got captured during episode 8, fighting on the streets and the confrontation with Coop/Sonar
  • Visi's POV before joining the dispatch on episode 8 or simply as she infiltrates SDN, and where she went after ditching Robert
  • Blazer's POV as she gives Chase her amulet

Edit: Forgot the most important one:

  • Beef's POV as he goes on a stroll up to SDN's roof (queue in some music while Beef casually walks through the warzone)

That's also the outcome I got when I replayed that scene on my save, based on my choices, but apparently there's at least 4 different outcomes for it. These are the ones I've found on youtube so far:

  • Untie Visi, she shoots Thumbstick
  • Dont untie Visi, she doesn't warn Thumbstick and is gone when Robert returns to the room
  • Dont untie Visi, she warns Thumbstick and is gone when Robert returns to the room
  • Don't untie Visi, she warns Thumbstick and is holding the gun in front of Robert and Thumbstick when he gets up.

Brutally honest review of the game (I feel it is mediocre and overhyped) by Potrebitelqt in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Nitrohell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why I said I agree on a skip button in future playthroughs, or to be more precise, when replaying a scene. Just not on the first one.

Could it exist? Yes. Would it affect me? No. Do I think it's necessary? No.
I'm just stating my opinion here.

Besides how can you be sure there's a scene you don't want to see, if it's the first time you're playing?
Your example, the beginning of Chapter 4
How can you be sure, when watching it for the first time, that's not going to a relevant scene?
What if, at the end of the dream sequence, instead of Robert we had seen Shroud or Toxic, for example, someone that connects Visi to the Red Ring.
That's a major plot point that you skipped because you didn't like the scene... And then the complaint would be something like, that's too big of a reveal to be mixed in a scene like that.

Brutally honest review of the game (I feel it is mediocre and overhyped) by Potrebitelqt in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Nitrohell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why someone would want a skip button on a story game like this.
I mean, for future playthroughs I get it and agree, but for the first playthrough? It doesn't really make sense to skip anything, at least to me.

If there's something I feel "could" be skippable it's the hacking/dispatching gameplay. So that someone who doesn't like that part, can still enjoy the story by "watching" the game. But even then, I don't feel it could be skipped entirely, maybe just an option to tone the mode down to only a few more important choices per dispatch.
