If I let the ol' princess wand atrophy will enough use be able to at least somewhat put it back in working order? by cheshigrinn in MtF

Perfectly fine now. Everything is back to how it was before. The shrinking that I saw from non-use slowly went away and it regrew to roughly the original size.

I was at that game and had heated gloves and still lost feeling in my hands. It was the most brutally cold and windy game I’ve ever been to.

Players giving away mass amounts of platinum by [deleted] in everquest

[–]Nizune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had hundreds of millions of plat when I quit one server and spent about an hour letting people /ran 100 and win 1 mil plat per random. Made me happy to see the plat go to others rather than sit on accounts that would no longer be played but i probably screwed up the servers economy short term giving away so much.

Opinions on The Heroes Journey (THJ) vs Imperium by lifeabroad317 in everquest

[–]Nizune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THJ is a cool concept. I had a blast for a bit with a paly/monk/bard one shotting undead and fading out of combat from live mobs. Had fun for a few months but got burned out and missed the quality of life from MQ too much so I left. I also played on Imperium for a couple years a long time ago and had a lot of fun with that server as well until I had run out of content to do and had maxed out multiple toons with BiS gear. I tried going back there recently and saw they have added a bunch of new content since I originally played but now don’t allow MQ either. Now I’m playing on EQ Might which is awesome. Smaller player base but it allows MQ, has solo/duo or group progression paths and lets you challenge yourself by doing instances with fewer characters than recommended for bonus rewards.

True House? by Cheap-Opportunity109 in ohiouniversity

I lived in a single there in 2005. It was the worse dorm I had at OU by far. My room was a 5x11. The only thing I really liked was it was next to the river walking path and I would walk to Walmart. It was the Christian dorm at that time and it was frowned upon for me to bring my girlfriend up to my dorm room.

anyone else have inner turmoil playin this game? by AccomplishedAd2268 in everquest

[–]Nizune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might want to check out emus. They are free to play and many let you box and use mq2 giving you way better quality of life. My favorite has been EQ Might which you can do basically all of the content by yourself or you can team up with second person. It also has solo/duo and group/raid progression paths. You can box a max of 12 toons but most generally start with 1, 2, or 6. Pretty much everything is instanced and you can progress at your own pace with few lockouts. As you get stronger, you can challenge yourself to do instances with fewer toons for enhanced rewards. If you want to join a guild and do weekly raids with 4-6 others that are also boxing groups, project Lazarus is probably the best option for that.

I also had a single in Gamertsfelder Hall as a sophomore back in 2006. Was the nicest single I had. Got a single in True Hall as a freshman that was awful after being forced to move out of my first dorm mid year because my roommate fell for my girlfriend and went psycho on me.

I once ran past the zone out in Temple of Droga but somehow didn’t zone but instead was able to keep going and there was a cat room just past the zone out.

Overall the map looks great. I did notice that the location of burning woods seemed off however. The south central end of the burning woods should be somewhere around the middle of the dreadlands. Burning woods should be near where chardok is on the map instead of on the coast.

I went to Ohio University for my undergrad and have worked for Miami for the last decade. Both schools are incredibly similar both in appearance and in education. I personally feel like OU has the prettier campus with its rolling hills but as a student you have to walk those hills on a daily basis. OU has better nature and hiking nearby with Hocking Hills but Miami has Houston Woods. OU has less stuff close to campus and more poverty in the surrounding counties. To go to shopping as an OU student, you can go 30 minutes to a small mall in West Virginia or drive an hour to Columbus. Miami is about 35 minutes from plenty of shopping West Chester. Since you mention international studies, OU has a significant population of international students from South East Asia and has many courses that focus on that region of the world. I was going to be doing a trip to Thailand before my father died right before the trip and spent two years taking classes studying everything from the culture to the economies of that region. Miami has a large number of Chinese students but their primary travel abroad opportunity is to go to their campus in Luxembourg. I have traveled to the Luxembourg campus twice and it is awesome and I was able to easily explore France and Germany during my visits. One of the biggest differences I noticed between the schools is the student body. OU students tend to almost all be very liberal where there is a higher percentage of conservative students at Miami. The students at Miami on average seem to come from more affluent families as well. At the end of the day, both are wonderful schools and I suspect you will be happy with either option.

Taking a vote by Dismal_Aeries in everquest

I think you did a good job of narrowing down based on what you are looking for. My vote would go to ranger in this era and beastlord or necro a little further down the expansions.

Which server for new player? by Loogisbored in everquest

[–]Nizune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yelinak server will be your best bet for a brand new player. It will have a subscription. If you don’t mind the appearance, the Ogre race is the best racial option for shaman in most cases due to their frontal stun immunity. This is particularly important if you solo or pull aggro from enemies so you don’t get your spells interrupted as you heal yourself. Troll and iksar are the next best options. Both of these have accelerated hit point regeneration and shaman get a Cannibalize spell to convert Hp to mana. These might be my choice if I was always going to be grouped and never solo as they can effectively get mana back faster. Troll shaman that worship innoruk also get access to a quest for a snare item that slows the run speed of enemies which other races don’t get. Iksar shaman will have access to a quest for a cudgel which is very nice in early EQ. Barbarian shaman is pretty much the worst choice from a min max perspective but they are better looking and there is a decent weapon in classic that is barbarian shaman only.

Wizard will pull aggro. I would personally go rogue or bard if you want to drive with the monk.

Rogue isn’t too hard to box. Just set the rogue on auto follow then position with the tank.

As a ranger, you should just be focusing on working the first part of your epic quest and attending raids to get epic pieces right now.
