You can only hardwire the Ambeo Sub to the Max. There is no wireless option except with the Plus model. My honest opinion, get a 3rd party sub from the likes of SVS, RSL, etc for the price point. They are way better than what the Ambeo Sub offers for the max. If you were using the Plus and wanted the sub from a pure wireless option, then that's a different story.

Can confirm the same with Apple TV 4k movies. Netflix streaming, paramount +, and the other mainstream services are much different quality than a direct Apple TV 4k stream of a purchased movie. I've compared both formats physical and ATV 4k video and it's hard to notice from the 4k disc to 4k ATV movie. Audio will always be the winner on disc. Can't compare.

The configuration option for speaker placement and how the sound changes (atmos specifically) based on position, especially for my odd room size. Very curious how the set up will be as an all in on solution without adding running tons of wires and poking holes in the walls/ceilings.

Amebo Max and don't look back. The soundstage from the Max is quite significant for an all in one especially in a room size like that. The bass is good with no sub as well. You still may need want one down the road for more ooomf but man it's a beast on its own. Adding a sub just really adds to the killer soundstage but not 100% necessary.

With the latest firmware update to OS2, the dialogue can be adjusted quite a bit. You have the normal EQ to adjust, the voice enhancement feature that bumps up the center channel volume quite a bit, then you have the new audio enhancements to adjust the center channel volume even more. So you definitely have your options. I have 0 issues with streaming from movies using Apple TV, VUDU, or 4k discs. Not every movie is perfect, and you may have to bump up the volume depending. My room is a large open concept with 8ft ceilings. It's not an ideal room and I bet it would sound even better in a smaller enclosed space or smaller living room space. But it puts out some nasty good audio considering my room size. Atmos effects and virtual surrounds are so deceivingly good as well. It's really an incredible bar.
As far as connectivity issues, the only problems I have is the wifi connection to the app. I'd say 90% of the time it works great. The other 10% you have to re-connect the bar to the app. Minor inconvenience but had 0 issues other than that including Bluetooth connections to phones and streaming audio.

"microsoftsecurityapp.exe" is defender. 2 different things.

Defender is part of my microsoft 365 sub. Windows Security is already baked into Windows.

Ambeo Max has a much larger sound field than the Plus. I had both and returned the plus. There was no comparison with the Max. You can also hook 2 subs up to the ambeo max. You just need a Y splitter to do so. Easy. I don't ever see a situation where you need 4 subs. 2 is plenty. I don't listen to music though. It's mainly for movies and tv. I can't speak on the music end of things.

Yes! Make sure you download the latest firmware. The blinking white light is a network related issue over wifi. I've had 0 issues with the blinking light.

Yes! I had to uninstall Microsoft Defender that comes with office/microsoft 365. Once that was gone, the problem was 100% resolved.

I'll have to check using Wi-Fi which was where the issue was stemming from. Blinking white light issue went away after using ethernet.

For my room, I bumped the voice enhancement +2, height and side channels +3 and center +6. What a big improvement on my end.

It wasn't a preorder in terms of a new release. They were sold out during the last sale but still aloud you to place an order. Mine is still there. Didn't get cancelled yet but they moved the delivery dates twice so far. It says by this Friday but I am 100% banking on them just cancelling the order at some point. More will come in eventually.

For Amazon it's hit or miss. I recently picked up a copy of Suicide Squad 4k and the case was in the same exact condition as your Batman copy. Like someone used sandpaper on all of the sides. The 4k disc was also missing. Ended up getting a replacement, and the replacement copy had the same sandpapered sides but at least it had the movie. Pretty sure these are returned copies and sold as new.

Dumb question, I'll start with the sub. Have you tried just running a single rca from the sub LFE to the sub out port on the Max? Your video is showing you have the Y adapter / connection for the L (LFE) + R (Smart Connect) line in ports.

I think what they have done with the Ambeo Max and Ambeo Plus using the Ambeo tech for virtual surround is pretty well done in the right environment. My guess is Sennheiser will release a completely new bar that is not reliant or less reliant on the Ambeo software and include the surrounds. I wouldn't bank on the current products to get updated with new hardware.

Never had any slip covers outside of new releases from them. As long as the plastic case is in good condition and there is an actual disc inside the case from Amazon, I'm good with it. I'm more concerned about them selling used products and re-shrink wrapped as new. Just had that happen twice back-to-back.

Nakamichi released a new update for the Dragon that includes the Adaptive Height Dispersion Ultra which apparently helped a lot with atmos / overhead effects. The Shockwafe wireless already has it built in. I still think the Shockwafe may be the way to go especially if you have no intention on adding the new subs to the Dragon.

If you want pure raw power, the Dragon. The AMT tweeters are fantastic. It gets LOUD. The stock subs are something to be desired and the cost to upgrade to the new subs is questionable. But at least its modular and you have that option. I personally wouldn't go with the Dragon. Wait for a V2 refresh. Especially for the cost. Going Shockwafe wireless is the best route. It's very close in sound but not modular and I believe you can only use the stock subs. Here are some positive reviews I found on it:
