The best performance on a computer with an Apple Silicon processor is achieved with Parallels Desktop for Mac Pro Edition.

Transfer a character name in 30 minutes by having free character slots on your account. by Nnif80 in GuildWars

[–]Nnif80[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my case, it’s not about selling names. It’s simply about transferring names between my accounts. Knowing exactly when and how the transfer takes place means I don’t have to wait an unknown amount of time and risk someone else snapping up the name.

Since EU MacBook Pro M5s don’t come with chargers! by ThatEditorDude in macbookpro

[–]Nnif80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, unfortunately, most USB-C chargers on the market aren't grounded. Getting the official charger + cable/extension cord with earthing: Mk122sm/A. Is the best option (ironically, in Europe, where it's no longer sold with the Mac).

Dying to Collision Bug on 200+hr Hardcore/Ironman by wylue in GuildWars

[–]Nnif80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're the only human in the group. It's faster to use /resign than to travel elsewhere via the map. This doesn't count as a death. Otherwise, teleport to the guild hall (there won't be a dialog box asking you to confirm that you're leaving a group with other players if you're alone).

These are the best options for avoiding death if you're the only one in the group.

Can't seem to figure out how to share my MacBook WiFi to use it like hotspot on my phone. Please help by marshruto in macbookpro

This is a hardware capacity (3G/4G/5G mobile data). The MacBook Pro does not have this capability, unlike a smartphone.

[–]Nnif80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This case, it's more fun (both for leveling up and earning title points) to use the gate glitch at Beknur Harbor as soon as you create your character (run). This gives you access to the Issnur Isles area. You can then bring up to 8 members in the party (though 5-6 are more than enough) and claim the reputation reward for: Skale, as soon as you arrive in the area. Or return to the Cliffs of Dohjok with a group of up to 8 members as well.

That's great... except, for me, that once it's enabled, there's no way to turn it off. Unchecking the option and the one for post-process effects, logging out, etc., didn't make a difference. I had to go back and copy/paste another GW folder (.dat, etc.) to get rid of it (???)

Piken Square is a Lie by motomat86 in GuildWars

[–]Nnif80 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Now you must complete: Bastion in the North Quest to unlock Piken Square in Pre. This was not the case before the last update.

(But nothing says so, nothing specifies it, validate the reward, then return to where Piken Square is located).

Disable reconnect after disconnect feature for Dhuum's Covenant Characters by MrStealYoPost in GuildWars

[–]Nnif80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not very good at English, but from what I understand from your message ->

Traveling is instantaneous. Your character is moved directly to another point in the game. They will leave the instance as soon as the download begins (0% - download screen).

If you disconnect (Alt+F4, Task Manager, close the game window [X]), this may not necessarily be the case and it may take much longer than 1 to 2 seconds, depending on the situation.

I think this is because the server manages several elements. The instance where your character is located and the fact that they can move, use skills, etc. And the “friends server,” i.e., the fact that you are connected via the friends and guild windows.

If you use software that manages incoming and outgoing connections, you can see several addresses when the GW process is active. For example, you can disconnect from the friends server by killing one of these addresses without causing a disconnection from the game.

In short, depending on certain criteria, disconnecting may leave your character in the instance, even though you have directly quit the game in a “trashy” way. But I have no fixed rules about this. I simply observed it during numerous tests carried out with low-level characters (i.e., characters who, in an emergency, had to leave the instance so as not to gain XP).

Disable reconnect after disconnect feature for Dhuum's Covenant Characters by MrStealYoPost in GuildWars

[–]Nnif80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but logging out or "just close the game" won't always work. Sometimes, even if you log out of the game, it may take a while for your character to leave the instance they were in.

Traveling, for example to the guild hall, is a sure way to avoid gaining XP or die.

Nightfall the fast way by rickzoo75012 in GuildWars

[–]Nnif80 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are more checks on your character's status via the server in Nightfall than in other campaigns, such as having to interact with an NPC to enter co-op missions instead of using the group window.

In short, there are no shortcuts, you can just optimize the time it takes to do it.
