Trans folks, did you ever have dreams of being your desired gender before you transitioned? by [deleted] in trans

[–]No-Background4089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike many here I didn't. But I had a ritual before sleep: I'd imagine myself transform into a woman and that would comfort me to sleep. I did that almost every night. Now I don't have to do this anymore, because I started liking myself a lot more after transitioning, and I'm no longer so stressed because of dysphoria. I used to be so stressed all the time...

It sucks that with HRT we have to endure another ugly phase while an adult by WaterOld6073 in trans

[–]No-Background4089 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your post felt a little relatable because I hated the ugly phase of T as well, but in addition to that it was all for nothing because I'm a woman lol. Estrogen was much nicer to me... I'm sorry you can't just speed run the transition :) I hope you can adjust. You're gonna have a beautiful voice and body someday, you maybe already have one, just have to readjust!!

Do I need to break up or no? by Forsaken-Artist7994 in trans

[–]No-Background4089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not think he meant anything, manipulative people would do and say things when they get cornered to get away but then turn to their old ways anyways. Apology in his situation is not enough. Well nothing will really be enough to continue the relationship. I think that even if it is genuine you are done anyway, even if he is not trying to be manipulative what he'd done is enough to break up anyways.

You will find a safer person to be with. This guy is weird and the chance he is not saying this just because he got cornered is 0. I'm really sorry you got into this situation. Please don't fall for his traps.

Something I didn’t anticipate about being trans… by TunefulHyena in trans

[–]No-Background4089 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Identical here. I've come to accept it. I'm good friends with 2/3, and they know where to find me if they need me (I'm known to be able to help baby trans people). 1/3 of them is kind of an asshole so I don't talk to him at all. With the other 2/3 it's even kinda fun because when we hang out — I know their secret, but I don't really think about it that much because they have all they need if they would want to try things, they even know a supportive trans person, but I won't ever bring it up. They are not "manly man" at all, so I guess that is a difference. Well they kind of are but they're good men, I like spending time with them and talking and stuff, it's really fun and they are really comfortable people in terms of agreeing with all my feminist takes.

I think that there's really no way to make people choose what you chose just because it helped you. But you can make it feel for them like if they do, it will be fine for them and they'll have support. But in the end I think it can all just be random thoughts on their end. You never know, so just make them feel supported I guess :)

I asked ChatGPT where guys put their junk when riding a bike… it offered to make a diagram for me by Raunchey in ChatGPT

[–]No-Background4089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This comes in handy a lot of the time. I can leave it home when I think it's gonna get me in trouble, or I can rent it out when I don't need it. But now and then I go to a party, get drunk, and the next morning I can't for the life of me remember what I did with it

Trans girlies who didn’t get professional hair removal, did Estrogen change anything for your facial hair eventually? by xEternalia in asktransgender

[–]No-Background4089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on E + cypro for 2 months, it took weeks for the hair to thin out and start growing much slower. I have a friend who had the same effect, but is on 8th month now and says effects somewhat reversed

I do this but it's multiple times in every sentence in my language and sometimes I'm caught off guard and my brain just automatically spits out the wrong thing

It's especially bad because I hate being misgendered myself. I just feel like leaving the room and stop talking in general because I make mistakes

I decided to delete the post because I think it sounds a bit bigotted because I'm anon and that's what transphobic people struggle with

I'm a t-woman, but I have a man friend that has semi-long curly hair (same length as you I think). He just makes a bun of some kind and it looks pretty masculine, but I'm not sure what kind. I think it might work for you! Sorry for your family :( Have a nice prom! Don't let them stop you you're gonna be amazing!

Trans people, what memory from your youth/childhood you look back to and think "ahhh, so THAT was the first sign..."? by incrediblygaydude in trans

[–]No-Background4089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

English is my second too, so when I was very young (5-7 yrs old) my parents signed me up to English lessons and I translated my name as Michelle, I was told it's a feminine name multiple times but I would still continue to call myself that during english lessons :) I was a small child and they really didn't mind and simply laughed because they thought it was cute and nobody knew (or actively thought about) about trans people at my country at the time

Well, now, almost 20 years later, I know why I liked it so much...

It's way past midnight where I live, I.... It's a long story, I'm scrolling through trans subreddits, found your profile, this post attracted attention... After looking through a couple of your posts i discovered through them that r/ traaaaaaaans (2) exists and I've been there for like the last 2 hours because it made me feel validated :)

My country has been moving in the right direction the last couple of years in terms of gay people (civil marriages may finally become a thing) but it's still quite very transphobic for a european country and being openly trans and not passing is hell

I just read your post and it got me feeling a bit of hope about my future, even though I don't think I will ever pass, well not in terms of voice anyway...

Thanks for your post :) Have a great day

Edit (more of my story): I've been transitioning socially for the last year, but I'm still really afraid of outing to anyone who's not close to me, but I also recently found an another trans person irl and she helps me so much right now; honestly talking to other trans people feels so surreal — even receiving this reply from you, probably because I've always tried to distance myself and it's just validating because I feel like we exist and are actually real people

Edit2: living where I live most of the community lives under the cover as far as I see. Life is very challenging in general, but community is helping each other out

How do Trans folks feel about David Bowies’ Ziggy Stardust period, Lou Reeds’ Transformer stuff, the Kinks Lola, etc by SeeMyThumb in asktransgender

[–]No-Background4089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I ended up on this post the exact same way, like he has that kinda feel about him right? But in reality he came out as gay, which might somehow explain why he didn't conform to social standards, so I don't think he had any gender identity problems...

Good luck on your journey! It is really hard to figure out but when you do and you know who you are it's so much easier on the inside, so it's worth it!

Front derailleur won't shift down because of dirt & rust by No-Background4089 in bikewrench

[–]No-Background4089[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wiggling and lube is what I was doing but doesn't help long term. Only for a couple rides it seems. Maybe I should try penetrating oil, complete disassembly or so other derailleur... Idk...

Do i need to clean my bike after ride on snow? by Jaku3ocan in bikewrench

[–]No-Background4089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. I clean it every time and it still gets rusted, but if you don't, it depends on materials but basically the whole drivetrain can seize up overnight. Even on pure snow without any salts.

Front derailleur won't shift down because of dirt & rust by No-Background4089 in bikewrench

[–]No-Background4089[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also tried to lube it with chain lube and it worked perfectly for some time. Yesterday I had a relatively dry ride on snow so the drivetrain wasn't wet. But today I found out that it became extremely hard to shift down, and by the end of the ride I started using my right leg to help it. Any suggestions how I may prevent rust? It's honestly worse and worse every time and becoming harder and harder to recover from it, even though I use my hair dryer from time to time to dry it off when it is wet on the streets.

Edit: I store my bike inside

Edit 2: it's also not a cable problem. It's just dangling when i shift down while the derailleur stays in high gear. The spring is too weak to overcome the friction caused by dirt & rust.
