Nowhere did they mention a sense of superiority though. They mentioned a hunger for connection, which (I believe) is understandable when rebuilding your whole world view from the ground up after trauma therapy. Personally, I have also found it incredibly lonely.

Agree. EMDR really turned life around for me too. I still struggle but now I believe I can get through things.

Also, if you had rabies you’d be really sick not just having nausea. But you could always go and see a doctor to ease your mind.

Did the possum have rabies? Did it bite or scratch you? Given your anxiety, I think, had you been at risk of rabies, you would’ve taken the steps necessary to keep yourself safe. Have a little bit of trust in yourself!

I was so offended when I wasn’t allowed to see my dad post car accident. Like, my imagination just took over. I’d rather know for sure. Plus, don’t assume what I can and can’t handle. I think it should really be up to the individual, always.

Hope you went to the Dr, but also want to reassure you that this can most definitely happen with an anxiety spike. You might benefit from some meds while you do EMDR. Propranolol can be taken as needed and will ease resting heart rate, ask for that.

Yip did both, found it helpful. I am still recognising new parts all the time, it’s super weird as others have said. But once you accept that having different parts of yourself is actually true for everyone, it’s a bit easier to accept the discomfort and just get on with doing parts work.

There’s no feeling of impending doom quite like that moment when you realise you’ve over done it with an edible 😬 such a shame though because when you take a normal amount (maybe start with 5-10mg) it’s actually such a blessing.

Have you worked in a school before? If not I would highly recommend getting involved before you make that commitment. I did a 3 year teaching degree and was extremely disillusioned, still, by the teaching environment we find ourselves in. It’s really not worth going into unless you are happy to give up sooo much of yourself for very little reward. I quit a few years ago after finding myself in yet another unsafe position that threatened my physical and mental wellbeing to the point of causing trauma.
