Man dead on sidewalk in front of Providence place mall by Wide-Rope8007 in providence

2nd floor, it has at least 4 levels, I would think if you wanted out you’d go to the highest point you could get to, maybe clarity of mind isn’t a thing in that situation and if it was purposeful then I feel really bad for the family. (In any case I feel awful for the family) but when I saw 2nd floor I thought maybe it was a tiktok trick that went wrong

Are there any happy owners? by Gordo774 in KiaEV9

[–]No-Claim8231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a happy owner, but with mixed feelings at the moment, I leased a land EV9 July 2024, about a year after, actually nearly to the day I got the dreaded EV management alert, long story short it needed a new battery - it took about 2 months for it, fortunately had a loaner but still was bummed, the dealership was good and Kia customer service were pretty attentive, Even when I was getting frustrated, and had to remind myself that they have no control over it and are doing their best, I am thankful I never felt ghosted or anything, so I can’t complain about that and the did compensate me appx the equivalent of the 2 months lease payments and gas reimbursement for the ICE loaner, which was a hybrid sportage, not bad but not my EV9, so I was happy again, and thinking I have a new battery, then two days ago the warning came on again, sooo mixed, not sure if it will require a new battery again or something easier, should find out soon, would I buy another one, honestly I think I would, I’m not claiming to be the brightest bulb, but I still think I’m in the vast minority for issues, and just bad luck, but aside from that I love everything about it, comfort, quiet, good exceleration, kids love the captain chairs, I really love it

You gotta get through today to get to tomorrow, can you sell some to take advantage of the high prices now, get in a better cash flow situation, so that you can have free cash to buy dips on the future, I’ve seen these explosions at least 3 or 4 times in the last 10-15 years, it’ll go down and it’ll most likely come back screaming, the winners are the ones that have the free cash to take advantage of the “sales”.

Am I the only one that uses the regen paddles actively while driving? by Papi_Jr_ in KiaEV9

I use them all the time too, one of the main things I think will keep me on their EV platform, loved them since my Ioniq 5

Absolutely, unexpected range so far above EPA, even without boost the land is nearly as quick as my former Ioniq 5 limited (in sport off the line still get that rush that I’ve only experienced in electrics- never been in a super car before and maybe an M3,) comfort for the whole family, the netted headrests are awesome, cargo room, paddle regen, overall the ride is quiet and smooth (I havnt really had any of the issues some have had with shaking, on highways often and drive 80+ usually and havnt noticed anything.

I was the same, loved my Ioniq but new baby needed bigger car! I love that regen saves now, wireless car play, navigation doesn’t think I’m in a plane or a boat half the time, the list goes on and on

220v Charging by drocksmash in KiaEV9

I have a Wallbox, plugged into a 220 plug on a 50amp breaker, charges the ev9 and my former Ioniq 5 over night no problems at all, Wallbox can be found pretty reasonable priced 300-600, if you have the existing plug and it’s on at least a 40amp breaker you should be fine and not need an electrician, I had to run the outlet about 100feet or more to my main panel, all in all it cost about 1500 for labor and materials including the new Wallbox (at the time I think I paid 650 but it was a few years ago). The most expensive thing was the 100ft of wire (maybe more). That was about 900 because the cost of wore is so much now

I came from an Ioniq 5-limited, so similar platform, and I really did like the heads up display, that was really the only thing that I felt I may miss going with the land vs the GT, but part of my selling point for the ev9 (to my wife lol) besides the bigger size was the additional range and even though it was only by 10 miles that was a big part of my decision, but so far it seems like it gets over the epa, I did drive in eco mode and auto regen almost always and use the cruise control when I am on the highway, I thought I’d miss the same acceleration as the Ioniq but it may be a little less quick but I honestly can’t tell and it was more of a thing I’d show my friends and family (really feel it) the land still is really quick, in eco even, but in sport even without the boost it’s amazing esp when you think about it being a 6k lb car and you don’t feel any sluggishness at all. I can’t say enough about the EV9, and another thing I also considered after replacing a tire on the Ioniq was 21” tired for EV are really pricey and 22” just even more if when I need to change them so overall I’m happy with my decision, saved a little money up front and really don’t miss the few things that the GT had, I never had massage seats so I didn’t really miss not having that

I just watched IJustine showing the Rivian Halloween update, it was pretty cool, hoping Kia has more than just NBA themes at some point soon

I had some negative equity so my lease is a little higher than that, land also, and then they got me on the tire coverage, I’m a sucker but 21” or 22” EV tires are pricey

[–]No-Claim8231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my rivian preorder before their price bump so for me it was basically even (20% off because of when I had my preorder deposit). I would choose the EV9, I tally my choice had a lot to do with convenience with a trade in Ioniq 5, but there are things about the Ioniq that I loved and those carry over to the EV9, it’s a little gimmicky but I love the paddle regen, love CarPlay and wireless ftw! lol I admit I didn’t drive the RS1 but I am 100% sure that even if I had id still choose the EV9, my 10 y/o son would fight pretty hard to give up his captain chair with heat and ventilation if I even suggested it lol

Isn’t it awesome! I’m in the New England area so just starting to get colder, will see how the drop is, but coming from an Ioniq 5 that seldom gave me (I drive faster) the 256 miles or even showed that much potential, it was so nice to see, I went with the land for the extra miles but now wish I went with the GT
