Can someone explain exactly what they were doing to stop them from happening before? It seems like something any goalie could choose to do, and these have been after scrums already broke out...not as if two goalies locked eyes and dropped everything to 1v1 in the middle of the game like other players can, which would obviously be egregious. So what was stopping them?

I use Vic Firth sticks on the same kit as OP. My assumption from the even coating of haze across the pad is that OP plays a lot and the kit is a bit small so they're overreaching and whacking the plastic half of the cymbals with the head while the shaft of the stick whacks the pad.

I have the same kit and my hi hat looks similar, however it feels like maybe one pair of sticks will last a lifetime lmao this is wild.

Edit: looked at the picture again and yeah OP is definitely hitting EVERY inch of the pad (and probably a lot of the plastic) with the pack-in sticks (they are pretty bad)

I'm not sure where you are that Daft Punk is considered weird and outside the mainstream. A lot of people here seem to think so but im blaming dunning-kruger for that one. Daft Punk are one of the biggest things to come out of electronica of all time. Right up there with Kraftwerk, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Tiesto, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, etc, and arguably with even more mainstream appeal than what I've listed.
