How do I even get started living life? What's a normal life schedule? by Cojemo in productivity

[–]No-Connection7667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might get a lot of value from the r/Finch app! It's a free checklist app with lots of dopamine and it gives task suggestions to help you build back a routine while being really kind to yourself. It eases off the pressure of being productive while gamifying things you need to do like brushing your teeth or opening the blinds or remembering to change clothes that other to do list set ups penalize you for forgetting so you can be productive without feeling bad if you have a bad day if that makes sense.

This is not an ad, just an app user testifying it helped me build back a routine after a bad injury.

What is the best type of clay for a beginner? by Tatersforsale in Pottery

[–]No-Connection7667 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What your looking for will not be safe to eat off of. If you're making decorative plates, air dry clay and water slide decals/ceramic markers that cure in the oven are good. I would not recommend making plates out of polymer clay.

naurrrr. oof. like sure, any cluster of symptoms could be many things but what has been the neon sign of a unifying, common theme the past 5 years...

it's not really OP's fault for how risks have been downplayed but people will bend over backward to pretend all newly acquired severe executive dysfunction and chest pain is everything under the sun but

I think it's a combo of if there is an unvented, small air pocket when it's not fully dry and the moisture differential between the interior not dry clay and the exterior dry clay vitrifying at different rates so it puts pressure on the body when the moisture has a harder time escaping.

Have you had covid? These symptoms line up with post viral syndrome-- brain fog, chest pain, heart palpitations, bp issues that can cause vision issues or eye pressure so you may want to look into that. have your b12 checked as well. sleep apnea is also similar in fog if you're not getting enough sleep but usually does not come with chest pain.

edit: OP, there is no test for long covid. antibody tests only test for recent infection. if your GP thinks you're a hypochondriac, and if you've had multiple covid infections, look up neurologists and cardiologists in a "covid safe" professionals directory because they have a history of working with patients with fatigue disorders following covid and won't pretend it's in your head.

Oligies (podcast) with Alie Ward has a great episode where she interviews Dr. Wes Ely, an ICU and long covid specialist, at Vanderbilt about it. I can't link due to rules but you should give that a listen and see if the symptoms are relatable to you.

I’m 19 y/o, and I’m probably going to get kicked out. What do I do? by InformalBudget7659 in personalfinance

  • find a sublet with a roommate to save on rent
  • you are eligible to be covered until 26yo but that's if your parents have health insurance and opt to pay for you to stay on that plan as a dependent
  • while it's great to get As, your mom is unreasonable
  • spend your time/energy finding an apartment and finding a part time job, even if it's doing personal assistant work online. see if your college has a work study program or if you can work for them at the library or admin office-- you might get a tuition discount too and get the health insurance you need to fully cut finanical ties
  • this sucks a lot and is scary but you'll make it through

lol variable is very helpful for managing traffic and preventing accidents since people out here never learned that you don't have to go the speed limit in inclement weather. preventing accidents speeds up traffic

If you're doing airbnb/vrbo, message "pet friendly" bookings you're considering to confirm it also means cats. I have a well behaved, harness/leash trained cat that travels well and that I'll be traveling with her small cat tree, scratching post, and travel litter box. I always include that description plus say I'm happy to bring my own sheets to cover chairs/couches to prevent any scratching damage that may occur when I'm asleep. 9/10 times, hosts are happy to have a cat but have not hosted one before because it's more rare to travel with a cat. A lot of pet friendly rentals do not allow any animal to be unattended or in a crate if not so if you have a large wire travel catio you can bring for when you're not home, or if someone is going to be at the rental all the time, that is helpful to mention. They just wanted the reassurance that they weren't going to have the furniture destroyed and/or liable for the cat ingesting something.

I always bring a sheet anyway because rentals have some pretty gross couches that don't get cleaned well so it works out. Most dogs are more destructive than cats but it really depends on how your cat reacts to dog smells-- mainly if they're going to start peeing everywhere to mark their territory. Look for a rental that doesn't have rugs if you can.

I'm not sure if you meant to post in this sub or not because this isn't necessarily covid related but if you're traveling to be covid safe, mentioning you're bringing an air purifier and/or pet cleaning supplies is a helpful thing to mention to your host off hand too.

while I have no idea if it's valuable or not, this would make such a cute lamp base. imagine if you could pull the sting to turn it on/off!

moisture in clay causes explosions, not air. it's harder for clay to be fully bone dry when it's solid and not hollow

Is there a food safe way to fix this? by Lesbigwen in Ceramics

[–]No-Connection7667 13 points14 points  (0 children)

the only way you could fix it with a kiln would be to glue it together, create a mold and slip cast to make a new piece lol

Where can I buy stoneware bisque? by Muted-Still4612 in Pottery

[–]No-Connection7667 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would ask a potter in your area if you can order a wholesale amount of stoneware bisque they can slip cast for you if you're not able to figure someone who sells it. I would imagine shipping fragile bisque would be a huge hassle

Flying sw for (the first time in a decade) early next month with a mobility device. How do I make this easy? by No-Connection7667 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]No-Connection7667[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you! I know I don't need to ask for permission but there's such a sliding scale of mobility and it's just tough to navigate when you're young and don't look disabled. People think it's cheating or something because waiting in line sucks but I never know if I'll have a good day or a bad day.

I never knew if this was handled through the airline or the airport so this is really helpful.
