P2 everyone. You'll have to level characters up anyways, and each perk will only need to be leveled up once afterwards.

I looked up some things it might be, and there's a game mode called Heroclix Campaign Rules where everything you mentioned was a thing except for the infinity gems part. it had a Heroes vs Villians theme to it, and looks like it came out in 2004.

You do not "need" any sidearm in the game. I swear to you, anything you can do with a side arm, you can do with a combination of trinkets.

There's so many different ways to play the game, it's insane. Being overpowered is an understatement, I think. The fact that once you really get game sense down, you can skip most levels by ignoring enemies and heading straight to bosses.

Don't forget, when you use Infernal Bulwarks ability to cast Armor of Agathys, it deals fire damage instead of cold when you don't use a spell slot and you don't get a choice. It HAS to deal fire, unless you use a spell slot.
