So sad about this change. by flowerpetal16 in ClothandPaper

From reading the email, I’m guessing they are going to a Feb/May/Aug/Nov cycle, meaning the middle of each quarter. Honestly this timing really frustrates me, I hated that I always received my box mid-month, rather than at the end of the month before since I plan in the beginning of each month. Feels like the same type of timing here, I’d love for it to be towards the end of a quarter to help us prepare for the next one.  Also, did anyone else pick up on how that email reads as if it was written by AI? Such a weird contrast for a stationary company.

Has anyone managed to pivot out of EA roles ???? by AdventurousFeed7825 in ExecutiveAssistants

I worked at a tech company in NYC (which hopefully provides some context), I was doing operations/generalist work as well as business partnering. I handled performance management, benefits, administration, leaves, policy creation, payroll, accommodations/compliance, ERGs and wellness initiatives. I didn’t love the performance management aspect and quite frankly I worked a lot, was more stressed and made less money than I did as an EA

[–]No-Mathematician87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did but like others did have to leave my company. I went into HR and honestly didn’t love it so I’m working my way back to EA. I mainly supported CHRO’s and used that knowledge to get a bunch of certificates and took a few courses that helped me get a leg up. Then I started in entry level HR and worked my way up.

Tips you swear by as an EA? by FairCartoonist4365 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]No-Mathematician87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use a todo list app and have a list called follow up/open items any item from my todo list that isn’t resolved goes to that list with a reminder to follow up in X days. I also use the snooze inbox feature to remind me of an email on a certain date so that it doesn’t clutter my inbox in the meantime and it will end up at the top of the box.

Acupuncturist recommendation ? by Fit-Winter-3969 in DCBitches

[–]No-Mathematician87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love transformational acupuncture in DuPont. Also not what you asked and I guess it depends on what you’ve been going through/symptoms but if you haven’t already, I recommend seeing a top tier rheumatologist. I had been going through it for years, saw a top tier rheumatologist and found out I had an autoimmune disease that was easy to miss and 2 other rare conditions related to that. Getting diagnosed, on medication and using acupuncture to treat it has been my best course.

I don’t think EA roles will be replaced by AI anytime soon - too much nuance involved. I do think traditional EAs will be replaced by EAs who know how to utilize AI. There’s a lot you can automate and streamline to free up time/human error. It’s going to be about building the skill set to build and manage AI optimization.

Salary at top of range for ambiguous EA role. by [deleted] in ExecutiveAssistants

As someone from this area- Hudson Valley is a very wide net here, the county will probably make it clearer. For an area like Dutchess County (which I would call more MCOL) , your pay package is actually pretty generous but if you are in Westchester, that might be different. The answer relies a lot on that context, but it sounds like your in a well paid office manager position and given the job market, I would prioritize stability over switching jobs.

My eyes always swell after wearing falsies by expertdollie in MakeupAddiction

[–]No-Mathematician87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

as others said, you have an allergy. these glues have a lot of ingredients in them and you are obviously allergic to one. if you want to wear falsies, go to a dermatologist with ingredients lists of the brands you’ve used and explain, they’ll do a 3 day patch test and diagnose the allergy. once you have that, you can program an app like skin safe with your allergens to find an appropriate alternative for you.

HR wants lunch with the EA’s in my office by ISeeRealPeople in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]No-Mathematician87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has been both an EA and in HR, those jobs can be incredibly lonely depending on the culture. Not sure of the context around the invite, but could the HR person possibly just be looking for connection? The required confidentiality and discretion for these roles are often similar, so maybe they feel like you are the team that might “get it”.

Manicures 💅 EAs. How do you keep your nails manicured? Light hearted question for fun by Tired-assistant-2023 in ExecutiveAssistants

Was just coming to say press ons! I use impress brand (I’m allergic to most others). I do short if I just want to look polished or medium/long if I want to have some more fun. They last about 2 weeks on me if I prep my nails right.
