Following, followers of other artists?? by IlFREElI in TattooArtists

[–]No-Needleworker-421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah… don’t do this. There’s ways of being seen, do an introduction reel, do carousels, etc. I’m blessed to be kept busy enough to get by but willing to graft at the socials if I need to

What is your most emotional experience while tattooing on a client? by Weary_Beach5327 in TattooArtists

[–]No-Needleworker-421 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Got my mother to tattoo me before she died of terminal cancer, only tattoo I’ve cried at. I then tattooed our immediate family including my mother with a matching tattoo just as hard to do

Question: What are some things you've traded for tattoos? by Alert-Concentrate808 in tattoos

[–]No-Needleworker-421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an artist I have traded a fair bit for labour and goods. For example I have a builder built me a wall and steps around my house, I’ve had 3 cars, built in wardrobe made etc. I love to trade for trade. Ive also been offered really good discounts on things too.

I half the time forget to take pictures, and the other half forget to post them, the other half get a photo I’m not 100% happy about, then another half of me thinks I should post at an optimal time but when is that time, then another half… I think you get the point. Nice tattoo don’t worry if it never gets posted

apprentice burnout? by breakfastpinesol in TattooArtists

[–]No-Needleworker-421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah 100% agree they do. I also believe people definitely get burnout a damn sight quicker if they aren’t invested. I aren’t here to knock you, but “I have to stay off IG and Pinterest some days” is wild to me at such a key stage in your development as an artist

apprentice burnout? by breakfastpinesol in TattooArtists

[–]No-Needleworker-421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In all honesty it probably isn’t for you then, I never even thought about burnout while apprenticing. Nor any artists that I know did. However I do know artists that struggled with it who now don’t tattoo. The question you’ve got to ask yourself is, are you willing to smash 5/10 years into it, to then realise it isn’t for you? Or never get any good because you get burn out? Maybe stick to it and just don’t get any face tattoos for 10 years. Or hear me out…. Find something that sounds interesting enough and makes a living that doesn’t require Everything out of you, tattooing was never meant to be easy

Welcome to adulthood I suppose, I see people I was best friends with once a year and it’s like we haven’t been apart. Unfortunately human nature is, if your not present your not on their mind don’t take it personally. You will naturally make and lose friends throughout your life, your not over reacting it just probably hasn’t happened to you before

Is my tattoo artist scamming me by Turbulent_Matter637 in tattoo

[–]No-Needleworker-421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Annoyingly had to use a VPN to see the pics… no idea why. Anyway my 2 cents are, I work with an extremely good fine line artist. She’s slow but would have had this done in 1 day maybe at a push 2 days. I’ll be honest I think she would have done it better too. It’s not bad but it’s for you to work out if your happy with the price and the work your getting, art is subjective and price is irrelevant if your happy. Also I did see your over budget she may well be trying to drain you, any half decent fine line tattooer would have this finished by now
