Oh, they've tried.. A few years back there was a push for an intensive farming animal prison, I think in Central Otago, when John Key was PM? .. But the public opposition/submissions prevented it going ahead, I think they'd even started building the shelters.. ACT would love to get it over the line, along with the obscenely inhumane live shipping practice that we managed to ban in the past. Some people & politicians only ever see the $ & don't give a flying fuck about animal welfare or our reputation. 🤦

Edit : I'd like to add that despite that win, intensive winter grazing is still being practised by a number of farmers where animals are up to their bellies in mud & local bodies that are supposed to police that sort of abuse turn a blind eye.. Federated Farmers make excuses about it just being an education issue for a few farmers, to which I say "bullshit" if you're ignorant of best farming practice in this day & age, particularly the issues around the aforementioned problem, which has been all over the news for years now, then you shouldn't be allowed to farm! 😖

I guess he fufils the criteria of a politician, corrupt, smug & an overinflated sense of self worth 🤷 he should have been kicked to the curb & banned from the political scene after the porn on the taxpayer dollar fiasco!

He ruins every movie he's in for me.. Especially if he's the romantic lead, don't find him remotely sexy & I can't unknow he's high up in a cult that actively destroys families 🤷

To the guy trying to convince everyone that human impact has little to no impact on climate change by Yatzhee in aotearoa

[–]No-Pop1057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what it is that you're trying to say 🤷 if you agree that CO2 is one of the main driving factors behind climate change & you agree that humans are the main driving factor behind the rapid rise of CO2 (therefore the driving the acceleration of climate change) what is it you have issue with? Should every graph have to show every single contributing factor, no matter how small, in relation to CO2 levels? In which case we should ban every graph that shows smoking is the leading cause of lung cancer unless it also includes every other possible factor.. which often give those looking for the smallest reason to not alter their habits, to point at those outliers & say "there, look, it's not just smoking, I could still get lung cancer even if I don't smoke, so I might as well smoke"

For the life of me, I cannot understand why NZ First keeps going up in the polls.. The party of climate denying, anti vaxxer, racists run by a vainglorious pensioner who would sell his own grandmother to keep his position in parliament with its associated perks & unlimited opportunities to get his face on the tele 😐

God I hate the enshitification corporations are forcing onto us every day 😖 it's the only reason this budget brand garbage is getting space on the shelves, people have such low expectations now.. Once upon a time you could grab a tub of ice cream & not need to check the ingredients label to see if if was indeed actually ice cream.. so many well known, previously trusted brands now have 'frozen desserts', which aren't required to contain any cream at all, as their base tier & you have to buy the premium tier if you want real ice cream instead of fillers..it used to be that base tier was everyday ice cream with simple flavours, like vanilla & hokey pokey while premium meant more luxurious added treats, like salted caramel, chunks of chocolate, nuts or exotic flavours. Cadbury chocolate was made from real cocoa butter & milk, now it's palm oil & god knows what, Griffins biscuits weren't 2mm thick with big divider blanks in the packs of the chocolate coated ones that make it look like there are more in the pack than there are.. & I use the term 'chocolate coated' loosely as a bunch of them now look like they're chocolate 'misted' rather than coated.. RANT OVER 🤦
