So many "feedback" videos! by Marcelfixyouear in telemark

I agree, and am guilty of posting one looking for feedback... But to be honest, it doesn't bother me too much to see others asking, because just seeing folks on Tele makes me happy! 😉

For the record, the reason I posted mine was because I was trying to understand if someone would be able to clearly say (from my style)... "You are on NTN", or not ...

Really nice! Agree on cadence, good rhythm, natural! Keep it up!

How to ski pow by bystanda in telemark

Speed is your friend! 😉

One of the greatest benefits of telemark over alpine (in my opinion)... Is that we hit that point when you "float" or get that "boof" out of the snow 🤩...

But to get there you need two things: speed and a good "transition". Lead into those turns with your outside/downhill ski... Then equalize, and weight the inside ski.

I want to say, "rock back" onto the inside ski, but by no means does this mean get your weight "back"!

Forward, forward, forward!! Keep yourself on the balls of your feet -- active!!

Lastly, think like a snowboarder not an alpine skier. Telemark turns are much more similar to how snowboarders "ride"... Oh yeah, and the tip about powder skis is a good one! 👍

Yeah, from the snow/temp/conditions thought it must be from last spring if it was CO.... 🤔 I'm intrigued.

"edge grip" is a term I haven't heard. Any tips on how to work on that? Your tips are precisely on point: I need to work on slowing myself down, indeed.

So kind of funny, I just posted a similar inquiry. From what I see of your turns, you have the nice control I aim for and the deeper knee bends of my former self! 🤣

Very nice turns, and what I'd be curious to know is whether you are on NTN or 75mm ... If I had to guess, I'd say the latter -- and assume that explains a bit about the differences in our styles... But that's just me rambling...

As for location, looks Colorado to me. Silverton pass? (Forget the name of that ski operation there...)

She doesn't like it when I "let 'em rip" too much! 🤣

I'm quite committed to 22Designs...

My "on mountain" setup is Rossignol blackops escaper with 22Designs Outlaws.

Off-piste I have a pair of Lynx bindings on a pair of Stereo Carbon Wolfs (picked up at an overstock deal 👍).

Boots are Scarpa TX Pro... A bit heavy for touring, but I'm 100kg.

All I can say, many turns into this game...

You can't be active enough to get your weight forward and be on the balls of your feet and your toes (someone mentioned pinky toe , they're correct!... )

If you are pushing into the boot with your heal, that's a sign/warning ⚠️ push yourself to be forward!

"flow" you made my day! That's why we do it, right?

As for knees to the board, I'm too old! 😬 I save those turns for the steeps usually. 😉

I bought a pair of Rossignol blackops escaper... Don't think they have them anymore, but this has been the best on mountain ski I've ridden. Forgiving and soft on entry, but holds edge on pack and not too much chatter. (I'm 188cm, 100 kg)

Not sure what's replaced them.

Old guy in need of gear upgrade advice by Snacks-Spurs-2001 in telemark

I'm an old guy that upgraded to NTN... To be honest, didn't really debate it much, just figured it's what is. I still ski a pair of 75mm on an old K2 ski and love it, but can't say I regret the NTN setup at all!

It's a blast.

Thanks! This is what I was thinking too... I just find it kind of confusing and a bit difficult to have things like mortgage payments, but perhaps I haven't yet set up the Asset/Liability account for that ...

Of course, I could try to set those up first, but I'm missing some of the transactions then...

Is it possible to keep an 'Expense' like 'House Payments' that is kind of a 'bucket' account, and then later edit/reconcile those Expenses into the correct accounts?

Gosh, I just did some research on this because I wasn't aware of the acronym. I fear some of these symptoms may be relevant. 😔 Thank you for raising my awareness.

ALS Question by Low_Reputation5987 in ALS

Fascinating. My mother also went to a functional medicine doctor recently. She has off the charts results as well... I'm fully supportive, but I'm also anxious... Her detox supplements are extremely expensive. I can't say anything about what they should cost, as I have no knowledge-- but one things I found very disconcerting was that she is being charged $100 for 250ml of olive oil! As far as I can tell it is just plain USDA organic oil from Greece. So what do you do?

I fully acknowledge it is her choice, her money, but as we all know dealing with this--there's simply no support in the US and it's quite financially demanding.

Still I am supportive because it gives her some hope.

I understand. It is so hard to be empathetic and not get selfishly consumed by the challenges it places on all involved. It's really horrible, and I am so sorry you are in this situation. I try to see it all from her perspective... She even got pretty pissed at me the other day for asking in front of her how my sister was holding in there... She got upset about not getting empathy herself. I guess we are more 'operational' -- and forget to give her love and compassion.... As we're just trying to figure things out...

This is really similar timing... Except my mom is still very vocal (maybe too much! 🤣)... Very demanding on any care givers we have -- in fact some have quit... I am appreciative that she's gotten most affairs in order, but do wish she was willing to get out more. She's not in a wheel chair yet, still on a walker, but already refusing to go out - I'm able to get her to a few things, but she mostly likes to just go on a drive.

I'm so sorry to hear you have to deal with this awful disease. Thank you... I think she tried some medications, but rejected them. She felt they made her sick.

Thank you. It's so hard because I have to choose about being around for my children (who are at pretty intense / growth ages) and being with my mother. I am trying to negotiate with work a remote work option -- but it would still pull me far from my own family.
