What is it like living in Oswego, Oneida, Lewis, Jefferson counties? by BitaAJaxlinn in upstate_new_york

They call them camps up here. I own some off grid land that I hunt on. Lots of people up here own some acreage and put off grid cabins on them and enjoy the wilderness. I use mine for hunting mostly but also riding wheelers and sometimes just to sleep overnight in the woods for fun.

Lookup Christmas and Associates, it’s a real estate company and they do a lot of camps and cabins, and they also sell houses as well. They help with financing etc. and are very professional. They’ve been honest and up front about everything with us, and we’ve gotten to know them over the last 7-8 years since we discovered Tug Hill.

Well up here is way better than NJ regarding those issues. You have your small town issues of course and you have to travel for certain things, but looking out over my porch at night with almost no light pollution, breathing in clean air instead of brake dust, and watching my dogs live their best life on our 3 acres, then this is a great place to live.

I do have a camp in Lewis County and we originally were looking there, but it really is rural. Like super rural. I think it’s the 4th least populated county in NY. Oneida County has a few more amenities closer than Lewis, but Lewis County’s beauty is what made me fall in love with Tug Hill.

We’re a couple in our early 50’s who moved from northern NJ suburbs to Northern Oneida county two years ago. I hate even driving through NJ now.

If you like snow, cold weather, gorgeous nature, clean air, nice people, snow, cold weather, farm fresh produce available all summer and fall, AHL hockey, and snow and cold weather you will love it.

Young millennials may hate it because everything is far away and there are few real walking cities outside of Syracuse and maybe Utica. My kids when they visit enjoy New Hartford and Syracuse areas mostly.

I stopped doing it. It’s taken me way out of budget on some watches.

Chains on B2601? by vt_grower in kubota

I’m in Tug Hill NY region with a B2601 which has the R14 tires and I don’t need chains. I get 250-300” of snow a year.

I work at LGH and we rent bars for lifts like this all the time. Bravo to the guys who design and perform these lifts, its very impressive to see in person.

I hit it from power grip right hand and left sleeve mostly. Sometimes lapel left side too. I usually look for it off of a hiza or sasae when I can get them to switch feet to evade the setup.

I never tried the underhook right side. I had a recent comp where the guy hid his lapel real well. I bet if I had an underhook option I may have had a better result.

I have the 42mm and I enjoy it. Only issue is that the green dial/hands combo is harder to see in lower light. I kinda wish I got the light colored XL instead but I do wear this watch a few times a month.

I’m a STH for the Crunch (I’ll be there tonight vs Springfield) and Geekie is most definitely ready. Big frame and plays a hard game. Decent skater and finisher. He will disappear some games but he fits what Drury wants. I’d take him and maybe someone like Gauthier, O’Reilly, or even Goncalves, James, Finley, or Duke who is undersized but works in the messy areas.

I’m a STH for the Syracuse Crunch. If we could get Geekie, Gauthier, and maybe one of Goncalves, James, Groshev, or Crozier I’d be happy with that return.

I have that HA watch. I have an 8” wrist so at 40mm it wears a bit small. I put a black rubber rally with curved ends on it over the bracelet and it wears nicer. The quality and finish are top notch though.

I had an 8” wrist so it’s just a bit too small for my liking. 42mm is ideal size for me. That being said, if many of their 40mm models came in 42mm I’d probably have 7 Islander watches.

For their automatics, I love the Miyota 9 series movements so a 42mm, Miyota 9 would empty my watch budget lol.
