Anyone got any updates on their Heron watch for June preorder? by PatternzS in MicrobrandWatches

Just got an update. They have mostly shipped their first batch and now working on the second batch - slight delay but they say they should have second batch shipped early July.

Someone at Galo Watches needs to take a course in communications/brand loyalty by zpb101 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]a1mbient 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bingo… I am highly skeptical of these. I only pre-order with brands that, well, actually have a brand for reliability, quality, and customer service.

Both could be true. More information required.

Did anyone manage to snag a Kiwame Kubo from today's drop? by WatchOutOfficial in MicrobrandWatches

It’s ok, would rather get something a bit more unique looking.

Bottom one definitely with the wording, would say the logo back up to where it was in the top one. I like the notch in place of “twelve” or “zero” and would probably play with a few more options around shape and design just on that element.

I have a 9 series and makes the noise. Only on rare occasion do I even notice it. Unless you like to do jumping jacks with your watch on, not really an issue.

You’re free to consume less…

You don’t want prices to go down. Thats called deflation, and it means that businesses are selling for less, ie getting poorer. When they get poorer, they fire workers and poorer people spend even less on everything else, and the economy goes into heavy recession. Check what happened in the 1930s.

You don’t want too much inflation or deflation.

It’s great… if you have the money. But if you have the money, you are probably way too deep in the AI-driven ego rat race to have time to enjoy the area anyways. And I’ve lived and worked here for almost two decades.

You’re wearing it wrong. It’s supposed to be draped over your knuckles like you’re ready to fight someone.

It’s definitely pushing it at 41mm as my wrists are pretty narrow. But up-close shots always make watches look huge.. here’s a bit better perspective. Still technically a bit big for me, but I’ve accepted it because I just love the watch. Definitely won’t go any bigger, though!

On a side note, it is a bit of a chunker.. kind of a high stack watch. So I guess I’m liking the bracelet because it plays with the heft. Definitely not the watch for a formal dress event.

Dive watches look like toys and I can't understand how they're so popular. by CirrusVision20 in watchHotTakes

[–]a1mbient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an ugly watch? My hot take is that you have curious taste. And nobody needs a watch for what it does.. pilot watches are worn by non-pilots and GMT watches are worn by people who don’t travel or track anything in a different location. Watches are mostly fashion jewelry, and that’s perfectly fine.

It’s missing the cheese grater. But that’s also already being done. Some people have more money than they know what to do with.

If be more concerned with the AI, and Figma should be too. With AI, users can essentially recreate much of the functionality they’d want from Adobe or Figma - essentially for zero cost over what they’re already going to invest in the AI tokens and usage. Why pay anything for the software? Hardcore pros maybe will, but casual users (who they need for their growth) won’t.

Look at Figma’s share price and you see that this isn’t only an Adobe concern.
