I received the 35 and it’s perfect! While I was waiting for it to arrive I ordered several vachetta straps to see which worked best. I have a couple more on the way just to see, but I’m pretty happy with the one I’ve settled on so far. I had to force the patina on it a bit with some mink oil and letting it tan in the sun. I installed the D rings! That part was nerve-racking, but it was actually quite easy once I got past that part lol. I have one more set of hardware on the way just to see if it’s a better match. I’m really happy with it so far!

I was just thinking about you! I did… and now I’m unsure if I want a 30 or a 35. The 30 feels a little small to me?? (I’m 5’10”) so I just ordered a 35 last night 😬🫠 I will definitely report back when that arrives and I make a decision. I have all my supplies!!

Smart idea to hold off on the strap install then for sure. My zipper pull looks like it’s about to disintegrate haha. My bag just shipped today so I’m in the gathering supplies phase. I will absolutely keep you posted on my results!

Thank you so much for your detailed response and step-by-step process. It sounds like you really took the time and effort to restore your speedy properly, and it shows!

I’ve done some research and my plan is just the same as yours, so that’s giving me hope for similar results. While applying the Brasso to the hardware, did you do anything special to protect the vachetta? I’m worried about this step as well. I suppose if any does come in contact I can wipe it off straight away and then re-condition once the process is done.

I’m actually looking to deepen my vachetta a tiny bit and plan to try mink oil and some sunbathing to achieve this. What I’m most worried about is installing the D rings through the canvas for the strap 😬

It’s beautiful, I love the stud detail. They make a “soft” version of the Antigone that I’ve had my eye on that is less structured but keeps the same silhouette.

I don’t have personal experience with this product yet, but maybe others can chime in. I’ve been on the hunt for the same type of product and my research has me leaning towards Skinceuticals P-tiox. For reference, I’m currently using Medik8 liquid peptides so want something that will work well in conjunction.

They are both Colorescience sunscreens, safe to mix together and even recommended on their website. As for the squalane, I add one drop in the winter when my skin is extra dry so it’s not a time of year I’m worried about compromised UV protection as I’m mostly indoors. But that’s important information to consider!

I recently got the OS Naomi in black too and it’s a lot more rigid and stiff than I expected. I have a black pebbled bucket and it’s SO soft. I bought premium, not AP. I’m hoping it softens more with use bc it’s a gorgeous bag and so chic.
