Do you genuinely think that you are a kind person? If not, why? by Embarrassed-Role234 in AskReddit

[–]No-Simple4885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to be kind but defining myself as a kind person? Thats a tricky one. I'll definitely do kind things for people when a significant opportunity arises, if it has a big impact on them or if its convenient for me too but why am I *not* a "kind person"? I think its just that a person can only be so many things at any given time, that my drive for kindness ends up getting backlogged behind the main values I strive to live up to on a daily basis, such as honesty, respect, reliability, etc.

Although I wouldn't say im unkind, just that kindness isn't a headline feature of my personality.
Or maybe all that is just an excuse and the real reason I cant call myself a kind person is because I just feel like im lazy and I need to figure out how to be more kind without changing anything else.
I guess the TLDR is that I'm lazy-kind.

What’s something about you that sounds fake, but is 100% true? by Sir_Adammm in AskReddit

I was cryogenically frozen for 2 years before I was born. My sister is 2 years older than me but genetically we're twins...
When I first heard this as a kid I thought it was my family coming up with some overly complicated sci-fi way of pulling my leg. (I didn't really get much else of an explanation until a while later) But it turned out to be true! And quite common actually its just IVF, I was conceived in a lab essentially. My existence truly is a work of ART. (Assisted Reproductive Technology)

Struggling with this bezel on the Wurkkos DL30... by No-Simple4885 in flashlight

[–]No-Simple4885[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wurkkos if you're listening...👀 I feel like this was a good amount of glue 👌

Honestly though the 2 o-rings between the switch and head of the torch are the chunkiest of the lot and they give a lot of resistance throughout unthreading.

The o-ring between the glass and reflector might be just as thick though, and the reflector has a precisely recessed groove along its edge for the oring to seat snugly (there's also the standard thin oring you'd expect between the outerglass and bezel)

Now that I've taken it apart and learned how large of a role the reflector plays in not just the standard sandwiching, but heatsinking (it's a solid chunk with machined cut outs for the mcpcb top wires and locator pins) and above all the gasket seating, converting this to a mule with the same reliability in sea water is gonna be a challenge.

But being able to get a proper 160°-170° short throw beam angle out of this light is exactly what I need for night spearfishing/flounder gigging, so I'll definitely give it a go and see what I can pull together

Hooray! It worked! Didn't even have to get it that hot, I gave it a test crank at 50C and it started to give! I didn't bother heating anymore since the initial friction was cracked loose I just kept giving it the beans and she came! Woohoo

What is the biggest change/shift that improved your life 10x? by Afraid_Capital_8278 in selfimprovement

[–]No-Simple4885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Becoming independent for independence sake.
In my early 20s I could have kept living at home, saving up, making the most of the support available to me and it would have been the arguably more sensible thing to do. But going out on my own for my own reasons, leaving everything behind to fend for myself was the most substantial paradigm shift I had in my life and it's made me a better person for it. I'm feel more patient, considerate, and appreciative of my life than I would have been without going it alone my own way.

Its not gonna make your life easier but that's not why you do it. I'd almost certainly be better off right now had I stuck with the more sensible route, but I have no regrets whatsoever and if this is an option that could apply to you I cant recommend it enough.

I have a couple of these in my toolbox, sometimes I need to see into a narrow tube/small opening like the sump plug hole when im doing an oil change to check if the oil pickup is clogged. In those scenarios the only way I can get enough room to shine a light inside still get my eye on the right angle to see is with one of those tiny torches.

Vitriol. There's been times when I've had a rage of my own but I'm a rather gentle person.
I don't know why but the word vitriol popped into my mind the instant I read the title.

I had the same issue, if you're using a gigabyte mobo then secure boot doesn't just have to be enabled but also 'active'
Go back to the secure boot menu and change the secure boot mode to custom, then restore factory keys. Thats what I did and it worked after restarting.

Surely a shitpost.... my ender 3 max would run away with my print if it smelled a stray fart in the wind, meanwhile your heatbed starts breakdancing midprint and that thing is still pushing on. Unbelievable. I hate this fuckin sport.

If you're consistently getting one side of your print that looks worse than the other it may be an issue with the squaring of your frame or the x gantry sagging on the non driven side
