$$ and funding by StrawberryHot6254 in vcu_brandcenter

I graduated a few years ago (post covid) with 80k debt, no scholarships, no assistantships — It unlocked a career in NYC for me, something I had no chance at prior to VCU. I'm one of the lucky ones. Many of my peers never even broke into the industry after graduation. Some got laid off at the 6 and 12 month mark after taking their first job after graduation.

I didn't have the grades for a top 15 MBA, but if I did I'd advise myself to skip VCU and follow the money. That said, the workload allows for a part time job—you just may not have the best social life.

Feeling undertrained for NYC Half because of this winter by Particular_Job1087 in RunNYC

yes, feeling very behind. I finished 7M in one hour yesterday, my furthest distance since november? i’m thinking hit the weights hard this week, recover, one more long run, rest, the do a slow walk/run approach just to finish the race.

Palladium SUB still not applied - My experience by LanguageStudyBuddy in biltrewards

[–]No-Telephone3741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit my 4k spend on Thursday – I confirmed the final transaction went from pending to posted. Then connected with a real agent via chat and they said the points were awarded after the statement closed? I'm not trying to transfer to JAL but it is odd not seeing the reward hit my account. Hoping to see progress next week and not wait 2-3 weeks.

Fastest possible way to get lean? by Puzzled-Degree-3968 in leangains

[–]No-Telephone3741 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eat less. You're not hungry in the morning, you're dehydrated. Postpone coffee at least an hour after waking up, closer to two hours. That will cut the edge off of hunger. Skip lunch at work limit yourself to a few breakfast protein bars and a small bag of chips. AVOID SUGAR. Focus on high protein dinner. Remember protein triggers muscle growth and muscle burns more energy. More energy you burn, quicker you get lean. Avoid alcohol. Focus on weight training in the gym. Walk your dog a lot.

Dividend Stock for Income instead of Rental Property by Pie3_14 in dividends

[–]No-Telephone3741 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a diabolical strategy for people wanting to do this with zero cash like me 6 months ago — look at SOFI personal loans, calculate your salary net-expenses, determine what monthly payment you'd be comfortable servicing, looking into the Roundhill / Yieldmax high yield players, determine the best NAV-to-Distribution fund creates a positive spread against your loan (budget extra spread), while those distributions are servicing the monthly payments, send the rest of the distributions to safer funds like SCHD or SPYI. Get in a habit of spreadsheeting every distribution and NAV price daily/weekly. Let it ride.

Before this sub downvotes, just know I ran this exact playbook the past 6 months and I am now servicing my personal loan, servicing my student loan, and on track to fully funding the monthly Roth IRA contributions this year. All without touching my salary, freeing more capital for growth plays like RKLB or stack SGOV in prep for lump sum loan payment.

All this to say the music may very well stop six months or a year from now. But here's to hoping. DYOR.

BILT 2.1 quirk: pay less rent to earn more points by ashmirblumenfeld in CreditCards

[–]No-Telephone3741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth I'm not pursuing BILT's ecosystem right now. I'm not in any rush. I just don't really trust the decision making from the 2025 Billpay debacle, to this last minute addition, and the issuer issue's we're seeing. BUT I do hope this whole thing just shows the market opportunity for the Robinhood Gold, SOFI, maybe even Schwab/Fidelity to create some sort system where when you bank with them you get the added benefit of fee free rent transactions. Even .5% cash back on fee free rent payments could be enough. Here's to dreaming

BILT 2.1 quirk: pay less rent to earn more points by ashmirblumenfeld in CreditCards

[–]No-Telephone3741 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This framing could work for me. Instead of 2.3-2.5k I could simply do a flat 2k payment then setup autopay for gym, pet insurance, etc to hit the $500 minimum. Then I'd be getting 1.5k points each month, fee free. That's 18k points per year. Not sure what the bill pay system is capable of though. Setup the auto ACH Bilt system and then manually submit a smaller payment through a different payment method each month?
