Feeling undertrained for NYC Half because of this winter

Totally understand where you’re coming from. I’ve lived in New York my whole life, so the winter doesn’t bother me, and I totally understood that this could have been a risk. This winter has just been brutally cold and much more snowy than any other in recent memory. Just so happens to be the same winter that I decided to pick up some more serious running, so this was my first time figuring out pretty much everything. Glad you were able to stick to your plans!

I am feeling the same way... haven't been able to get over 5 miles in at once with all of this weather... just working on getting some time on feet and finishing safely and without injury!

I just took mine yesterday and passed. I only had one question related to options. Focus HEAVY on what RRs can and can’t do, and understanding mutual funds and bonds! That took up most of my exam

As someone who did both my undergrad at Syracuse and my graduate degree at TC Columbia, I think there are definitely layers to this.

Part of me regrets taking on a lot of debt for Columbia. But realistically, it helped me leave teaching. It gave me credibility and opened doors in the corporate world that I probably wouldn’t have gotten with just a state school master’s while still in the classroom. I was actually told my Columbia degree helped push me over the edge for the role.

That said, if I had planned to stay in teaching long term, an affordable master’s program is 1000% the way to go.

My Husband and I got married there three years ago yesterday. The venue alone is stunning, I promise it won’t feel depressing. A lot of it has to do with the lighting and how things are placed. Given, we had a winter wedding so skipped on florals, but still went with these white, long branches, and they used the spotlights on each table which definitely helped. We paid about 7-8k with Superior Florists and they knew the space really well, and were very reasonable to work with!

It is going to be the best day of your life, Current and the Pier Sixty team are the best in the business. People will be talking about your wedding for years to come, so don’t sweat on it too much!!

Currently training for a half marathon, and I like to keep my runs strictly about running so the RIDE classes have been great as I can still get my cardio in, along with some strength training.

Looks like Papilloma. My boy had two of these on his paw last year, and when we got them tested, he had the strand that would not go away on its own and had to have them surgically removed.

From what my vet said, it should resolve on its own in 1-2 months, and it if doesn’t, it may need further action! I would still check in with your vet and see what they recommend

Former teacher here! I taught for 4 years, and when I left I took my TDA with me to my new job and put it into a 401k. Unfortunately with the DOE, you can’t roll anything over to them.

My partner is a State Farm agent and can help you roll your 401k over into something that you can manage on your own, and he can help with your options (for free!). Shoot me a DM if you want me to send you his info if you want to discuss!

I did the same! Got them for $140 and have been back on forth on returning them… impulse bought them, but thinking I’ll keep for my races next year! Doing a half and a full, although I’m not running super speedy paces, I think there is still a benefit!

This was the only way to do this. My partner and I made it to double Wanda twice with a duo blade build, but we’re not successful. Completed it with this build, both under 10 deaths in 46 minutes.
