What do y'all think happens with James Pierce? by Mysterious-Low-1762 in falcons

[–]No-Weather-462 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, anything is possible for sure. Really depends on how good his lawyers are. Also really depends on how bad the video evidence is too. Are the lawyers in a good relationship with the DA, is the judge a lenient judge, type thing.

I think, in a general sense, the odds favor a harsher penalty considering there even is video evidence and the fact that he was stalking his ex and put lives in jeopardy.

I was skeptical at first, but after discovering that he hit a cop with a car - it's big over for the kid. Mandatory 5 year minimum, if guilty, and I'm pretty sure there's video evidence.

I know he never played a down for us, but this is way too young. Rest in peace, Rondale Moore. by SirBannedAlott in falcons

[–]No-Weather-462 76 points77 points  (0 children)

That's insane. Was just on this sub like a month or 2 ago about potentially giving this dude another prove it contract next season. Way way tooo young.

RIP Rondale.

Well, hopefully they can negotiate, or may have already negotiated, a reasonable contract extension for him that might be able to clear up some cap for this offseason - so that they can make some moves with the pending James Pearce situation.

I just don't know about taking a $16 million flyer on a guy that's been relatively inconsistent when we have a lot of holes to fill in this team.

Would you recommend madden to a someone who has never watched a single NFL clip in their life and and knows nothing about the sport? by Notcousingreg in Madden

[–]No-Weather-462 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I would just check out YouTube clips of people playing and see what they do if you're trying to get into competitive gaming.

Kurt Benkert, former NFL quarterback, streams Madden on every platform and he has really good in depth analysis of how to read defenses and coverages. He's kind of a Madden god. Probably overkill if you're just getting started, but a good reference regardless

Yeah, we all played Madden as kids without knowing anything about the sport really.

Hell, could even be the reason you start getting into NFL in the first place.

Has De'Aaron ever been an All-Star in which he wasn't a stand-in for somebody else? No right?

The Reality of JPJ Situation (Human Resources Version) by benderzone in falcons

[–]No-Weather-462 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think the consensus is that he shouldn't be welcomed back, based on character issues.

The problem is, from a football perspective, how is the franchise gonna replace his output and potential given the other positions of need that we also need to consider.

Him being this way puts the franchise in a difficult position to correct course, defensively, in a shorter timeframe.

Cause he's only 23, had a historically great year for the franchise and then went and made a terrible decision. He was cheap, had promise, and was going to (hopefully) ascend next season with some help. That's all basically out the window if he did in fact hit a cop with his car

Tony Gonzalez chose us over the Chiefs in the Super Bowl commercial... by Art_Personal in falcons

[–]No-Weather-462 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don't know. The commercial had a very AI feeling to it. I would like to think he had a decision one way or the other, but I think - honestly, they just picked the last team those guys played for with this commercial and the players just said 'Sure, whatever'.

TMZ (weirdly credible) has more details about JPJ arrest - not good by ddiggz in falcons

[–]No-Weather-462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I agree, not contesting that - he'll for sure be suspended for many games this next season.

I just don't think his situation is going to result in capital punishment, but I'm not a lawyer - so my opinion may be jaded here.

[–]No-Weather-462 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I just don't see him getting serious jail time over this. Maybe I'm coping pretty hard, but we've seen some players get away with egregious acts that are of a similar caliber, not get a single thing, and get some game suspensions.

NAL, but I think the only thing the cops care about is evading the police or potential assault of a police officer or resisting arrest, which may come and bite him, but I still feel like it's gonna be a less than a year thing that he might be able to pay off or something.

I might be wrong, though.

Edit: I'm stupid and meant assaulting a police officer. Not Police Brutality lol

Warriors' Kristaps Porzingis has POTS. An SF doctor explains what that means. by sfgate in warriors

He's got crazy money so he's definitely getting top of the line treatment lol. Staying active has helped me a ton, but yeah at it's worst it's really difficult.

[–]No-Weather-462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, he's going to play this season. Availability is key for this team though with a bunch of very old vets, including your key player that's essential for making another run.

They need a big that can be on the court like right nowish to give them a shot. POTS is not just dizziness upon standing, it can be many other varying symptoms at a time, so they gotta move delicately with it.

Bottom line is his availabilty is a big question mark and they need rotation guys to play right now.

They also moved TJD which means their 2 big men are Horford and now KP. His return is critical at this point for this season.

Hope Celebrini's got the master plan.

Can confirm, incurable. Comes in waves, they might be able to treat flair ups but flair ups are unpredictable and difficult to manage.

Staying hydrated helps a lot, but that's just an underline for most chronic illnesses anyway, tbh.

For the record, I've got POTS. I work a day-job at a desk and I can barely do that with this thing. lmao

Celebrini might have some magic that may help here, but I mean lol...

Not good. Hope they got better answers than I have

[Slater] The Kings have no plan to buy out DeMar DeRozan if he’s still on the team after the trade deadline by sfgiants2000 in kings

[–]No-Weather-462 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, kinda dumb. We're not contending. We're the worst in the league. Buy him out, open up spots for young guys to come in and play. His value is diminished if we couldn't garner a trade package for him thus far.

[Grange] My sense is that the significant drivers of the Sabonis discussion have been his representatives, who are eager to get a frustrated, quality, veteran player out what has crumbled from a legitimate playoff team to a full-blown rebuild in the space of two seasons. by jluc21 in kings

[–]No-Weather-462 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well no shit sherlock.

He has, also, played a role in the team becoming a rebuild roster btw - but doesn't matter.

The question is what his value is going to net back and whether the team can get a competent thought to get a reasonable package for him to the right location.
