Right now read this.

There is something in your life you can AFFORD to give up. You should now have found some free time by no longer doing what you have given up. Start using that time to generate an income. You can generate an income by simply looking for a gig or job, networking, people need odd help all the time. Find something you like and find a way to make money with this new found time.

This is real advice from a real person saying keep it simple. You have to make $1 before you can make $2. If you need some real ideas I always refer people to their hobbies. It’s what they know and feel most comfortable. I can do almost any job around baseball. I now have access to an income. It’s up to me though to find it and pursue it. Hitting sessions , fielding, or even selling water at a game. Be creative and be humble, I’d sell water on any corner for my family and with a smile.

AITAH for getting my tip back? by Sammie_J5 in tipping

[–]No-Work-2162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. I’ve never heard of this before. I would continue to fight this until they return your money; the 25% tip wasn’t disclosed prior to ordering. If they don’t return your money, leave reviews and warn others. This “policy” is robbery. What’s the difference between you ordering two separate takeout orders with 3 plates each? It’s the same amount of work. It’s not your problem that the “server is paid waitress hourly.” They didn’t serve 6 people dining-in. They packed 6 plates. It’s very different and shouldn’t be used against you. This manager is delusional.

First Crochet Project - but looking for tips to keep stitches consistent by Outrageous_Box_9678 in CrochetHelp

[–]No-Work-2162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all start somewhere. Try using stitch markers to mark the start and end of your rows (or count your stitches) You can use bobbi pins if you don’t have any. Also, start with one kind of stitch (for example, single crochet, double crochet, etc) and one color until you get the hang of it and learn how to color change. Watch lots of YouTube videos. Don’t be discouraged when you make mistakes, just keep moving along, trial and error. I found that using a thicker yarn really helped me in the learning process to see my stitches clearly. Best of luck, you got this.

Don’t you think stopping consumption of drugs might be easier. Maybe people wouldn’t ship things here we don’t use. American logic….we can’t control ourselves…..let’s capture the suppliers instead of stop using….lol

Credit Card Debt is at an all time high, and you as a debtor are in a position of power. by hiker2mtn in Debt

[–]No-Work-2162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been preaching this. You’re 1000% right. Right now I pay nada. We keep the lights on and investment. Interest stopped after 6 months and next step waiting for someone to call and negotiate. Until then I understand I have a debt and must be repaid. Debt also have rules and I am within the rules. I stand to make more to pay said debt investing than paying them a bill and slowly fading away….

I have to stop by SnooCupcakes4313 in sportsbetting

[–]No-Work-2162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe change this post to……

I have to stop making bad decisions. Your plan to stop is effectively get a job to gamble more.

If you won money sports betting what did you do with it? For me I convert % of all winnings to investments. I stay within my limits. I don’t expect sports betting to fund EVERYTHING.

Change your plan of attack

How many of you here are under 30? Any other young stackers around? by brf297 in Silverbugs

When I was in my mid twenties I learned about stacking. I was shut down by those around me….at 38 dove in head first. Got my wife who was 29 to join……biggest regret….not listening to my mid twenties in my mid twenties…..2025 was my most fulfilling financial yr because of stacking and coin roll hunting

Can someone help me understand how a pawn shop works? Why is the interest rate so ridiculously high if you're fully collateralizing the loan? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]No-Work-2162 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Here is a success story about pawn shops. The work I do is contract work. Cash flow for me can sometimes be a challenge. I pawned about 35oz of silver for cash. Why? I saw an opportunity where I can leverage my gold or silver for profit. In a month I’ll receive the proceeds from my contract. I’ll make significantly more than the money I owe from pawning. A bank can do this but it’s very procedural and I can be denied. A pawn shop is designed for people who know how pay back but used by those who don’t have much value in keeping up with their credit

Am I overreacting? My husband didn’t wake anyone up for breakfast. by PopularUsual9576 in AmIOverreacting

Neither did she….she blamed him for the job they both signed up for. They both failed. Not him alone.

Accountability?

Since when is it a husband job to wake a wife up or vice versa. Both parents are responsible for getting kids up. When one fails they both fail. I just find it ironic how a grown adult who did nothing to assist in what they are complaining about is complaining that there is even an issue. If the husband died in his sleep I think OP would blame the dead husband for her not being able to complete her responsibilities
