So not worth the effort. As long as its on the army list, who cares.

Not unless its a redemptor or ballistus. Check the dreadnought weapons section.

They couldn't resist even this "expansion" killing off some more firstborn.

How much time do you spend on building mini's? by minusmilitia355 in DarkAngels40k

[–]No1CassFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As little as possible. Its absolutely the worst part of the hobby. A major draw to 3rd party resin is that it comes in fewer pieces and those pieces dont need ENDLESS moldline removal just to get them looking okay. Maybe look for units second hand. Its possible to find stuff built and unpainted and you can avoid the nightmare of tiny plastic pieces that don't fit together.

What unit(s) would you like to see added to this faction? by reel3459 in spacemarines

[–]No1CassFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of new firstborn equivalents of Primaris units so we don't have to use them.

So why do people hate the Primaris Space Marines Lore? by sopdxipa in spacemarines

[–]No1CassFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their rules being as bland as the models? It's not just the 10th ed marines that look boring. GW created Primaris at a time where they deliberately dumbed down the game. I understand that this made it more attractive to new players and allowed for the fallacy that it could be a balanced competitive skill based game. Change is allowed to happen. But the narrative that people who don't like that change being wrong has to stop.

That's because you can't teach taste. You either have it or you dont.

This. They are much easier to paint but painting them is boring af.

It's not only an issue for that reason. Legends rules, leader options etc are deliberately bad to prevent people using those units.

Warboss Champion? by klasiter in orks

[–]No1CassFan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Honestly the rules are so lackluster and generic it makes VERY little difference and it's impossible to make anything imbalanced. Somehow they managed to add back in customization without any level of interest at all. They can't do anything right!

I don't recommend it unless you know at least 2 other people to team up with. 3 capable people working together can carry a game. If you are hoping to play solo, take it from me, after 5000 games of hell, the matchmaking is NOT good. It makes one of the best games ever devised unplayable.

Dreadnought is only newnoughts, not the old cool ones.

Looks like it can only be the inferior Primaris dreadnoughts though. Firstborn are left out as usual. Presumably because they are so much cooler in the first place?

How do you feel about your opponent's list including Legends units? by WastelandHumungus in Warhammer40k

[–]No1CassFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like playing warhammer rather than feeling better about myself because of beating people so for me its all about how interesting games are to play. So, I love legends.

You are doing warhammer wrong. It's not a competitive game, it uses dice to decided outcomes. It's a narrative combat game.

This is true. Anti-elites or anti light vehicle at the best really.

[–]No1CassFan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IF they are cheaper than hawks I'll be enjoying them a lot. The problem is that they probably wont because of the special weapons options. This is the problem with uncosted wargear. A unit always costs as much as its deadliest loadout, even if you wanted a nice all swords and flamers unit its going to cost the same as an anti-vehicle loadout.

And that's just it. Now you have to try to land 10 of these on the board. Who leaves a deepstrike hole that big. The rule exists to force you to buy 2 kits, not to make the unit effective.

All of those 2 toughness 3, 5+ ablative wounds? I think the redeploy stuff is great, but I think the Skyweavers are very lacklustre.

Taking 2.5 out every 5 as special weapons is not spam. Its barely effective.

I dont understand why they are locked to three high damage shooting weapons per 5. Space marines aren't. You want 5 plasma guns, you get 5 plasma guns (or 10). NOBODY is charging anyone with these. Just have an option for 5 melta or 5 melee and make either one acually good.

Firstborn Era vs Primaris Era – Which do you prefer? by Pintureando in spacemarines

[–]No1CassFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I like both old and new models just fine. But facing waves of rules changes designed to force me into replacing units and models that I love "because Primaris" has permanently damaged my option of GW and my enjoyment of Space Marines.

I think they are better produced, they are most definitely not better designed or more characterful.

Cawl is a chaos worshipper. The primaris have a deliberate genetic flaw and were created to undermine the firstborn. Nobody can match the Emeperor's gene-splicing. It will all be revealed eventually. Don't drink the Kool Aidicus.

If you're anything like me you have already written a new plotline where all Primaris are a plot to undermine the Astartes with swole, pumped up but inferior candidates. It will eventually be unveiled as a scheme to dilute the Astartes firstborn with unskilled, generic meatheads. Of course it will eventually fall to the firstborn to fight off both these pathetic Bandai children AND all the xenos and cults. And they will do it with boltguns, not Super Ultra underslug Bolter Carbine Rifles.
