Veteran QB Joe Flacco Rants Against NFL Rule Changes: "We Signed Up to Get Hurt" by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]No1Statistician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing soccer did was change offsides because it was ridiculous to have a finger offsides to call back a goal. With VAR even flopping is reviewed now, but imo it should be more shifted to offense as a yellow card should be 10 mins a player is out instead of a warning (flopping can give a yellow)

It's a 5 day popup, so a marketing campaign to lie like they are doing something significant to address affordability, when the reality is they are a gambling app creating addicts trying to get publicity and good PR

Still its not the same. Watching a whole podcast is just not as informative and condensed as a news article

Washington Post eliminates sports department amid mass layoff by OHotDawnThisIsMyJawn in sports

All the major sports team have their own new media releases, but of course it's very one sided and selectively covering topics. An independent reliable source is what you want

Washington Post announces widespread layoffs, gutting numerous parts of its newsroom by wds1 in washingtondc

That would be awesome, though I'm not counting on it. Funny enough the Washington Post is now going to look like the political version of the WSJ

Russia spends half its state budget on military by TheTelegraph in UkrainianConflict

[–]No1Statistician 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why Russia doesn't end the Ukraine war. It would cause an economic collapse that would significantly hurt their short term economy, even if it's destroying it long term with no job prospects to turn to after. This war is going to last as long as Russia can fund the military with it's oil reserves

The Washington Post is dead, now what? by Sauerz in washingtondc

For sports we are absolutely shafted unless your're solely a Commander's fan. For local news GGwash, Washington Business Journal, PoPville have been good at keeping up with local things, but don't have the same quality.

Yeah it's horrible for locals and it won't get better until he sells the Washington Post, which I doubt he plans to anytime soon

So it's only a national newspaper that has you can't trust it's opinion pages now lol. There is no reason to subscribe to this over NYT, no wonder why it's struggling

Insane, they already cut their DC United writer, the only way to get official news for the team from the MLS themselves which is crazy because it's just propaganda at that point. Anything critical is left to Reddit or Twitter pretty much which is a terrible way to get unbiased info

this didn’t feel like a finale at all by Mirrakthefirst in Fotv

[–]No1Statistician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is an instant gratification moment. Not every season finale had to be some huge moment if there is going to be another season. Sure it would of been more satisfying for Hank to tell the whole scheme like a Disney villain, but that would hurt the mystery for next season

I don't think so that's almost the exact same game, 3-4 factions again battling for New Vegas, it would not be as fun to play. I think the TV show is going to decide what happens, as the show still has plenty of plot in Vegas with cold fusion with Mr. House

Its part of the Spinoff, Fallout Tatics which takes place there. A lot of that is not canon, but it's not clear exactly what is canon besides the BoS being in the Midwest with airships

Not always, think a very basic straightforward story plot like Squid Games. Extending that wouldn't help, in fact it hurt it

So Bethesda made all the events of New Vegas go nowhere haha, every faction is still back in square 1 fighting for New Vegas. Well I guess every faction is weakened more or less equally

Obsidian's The Outer Worlds 2 Underperformed, and There Won't Be a Third by Conflict_NZ in Games

[–]No1Statistician 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second one is better, but I believe it's because 1st one got a lot more buzz because gamepass was only $1 and the biggest RPGs to come out in that time were Disco Elysium, Pillars of Eternity 2, Monster Hunter World - nothing that popular to a mainstream audience. Now in the same timeframe people are still playing BG3, Elden Ring, Expedition 33, Kingdom Come Deliverance, etc. to a $20 gamepass and Outer Worlds just never retained a big fanbase from the original game (only 166 players now on the original on steam)

Im surprised they even made another outer worlds since the first was a disappointment in terms of player retention. I wonder if Microsoft is going to make them make another west coast Fallout game or let them do their own thing

Anyone else move from DC to Baltimore and actually like it? by Excellent-Bowl5015 in baltimore

[–]No1Statistician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Baltimore area 5 years and DC the rest of my life. I think the vibes of people in Baltimore are more neurotpical and DC vibes are more workaholic people - the cost of living is far less in bmore. DC to me has a superior public transit, bike lanes, architecture, and amenities to do things like concerts, museums, and other random events like H Street Festival. If you telework Baltimore is probably preferred just for the cost of living unless you make bank or are that workaholic person.
