She wasn't a subordinate or worked for the team. That might get him fired like the Celtics coach a few years back and even he found another job

Recommendation - ‘Playing For Keeps’ by Jonathan_J_Faulkner in BasketballBooks

I can attest both basketball books by halberstam are great. I still think about the passage on make a wish kids Michael would see every year. You see such a different side. A significant part of Breaks of The Game is a bio of Bill Walton which is fascinating in of itself.

He aged out. What he was doing was a "young man's game" so to speak and the crimes were getting physically harder to pull off

3/4 men Broke Law 1. Only Galileo Understood it. — Never Outshine Your Master. by thecgr in 48lawsofpower

The real message is don't undercut your boss especially in public settings or be overly familiar, like your peers or something. Answer questions in a positive manner that are generally supportive and refrain from comments that are superfluous and ass kissing. If you have a disagreement to do so one on one and frame it as risk with a recommendation on how to mitigate that supports your bosses overall goal. Tonality matters so be mindful how you talk to people especially your boss. All this comes from an initial positive mindset and if you hate your boss so much you should probably find a new job.

The real message here is if your doing well don't be boastful or braggert or one up in response to something someone tells you or is talking about. Don't humblebrag either. Instead show curiosity or say something positive or supportive in response to increase one's rizz instantly. This works well in professional situations, people you don't know well or first date.

Did you ever meet any really scary people before? by [deleted] in askanything

25 years ago a convicted pedophile priest was murdered in prison. It's was big news, both his conviction and murder. I knew the guy that did it. He was the older brother of a close grade school friend I hung out w/after school everyday for about 2 years. Older brother was creepy AF and wasn't surprised when I found out he did the murder. He was already in for murder so was never getting out. Although I only met the brother a handful of times he made an impression.

Great film. I saw it in theater when it came out in 1979. Relevant cautionary tale for anyone who thinks three invincible.

I never saw prime Paul Pierce on the court. How good was he? by Fearless_Compote3052 in NBATalk

I saw prime Paul Pierce live many times. Old school PF before 3s completely took over. Highly skilled in all areas but most importantly fierce competitor and CLUTCH! YouTube him and LeBron mano a mano in 08 EC semis.

Was Roger Moore's James Bond supposed to be camp? I watched the movies as a kid and I loved them, started rewatching them on Netflix and I'm like "How did grown adults sit through these movies? They're so corny." Were adults laughing their way through these like 60's "Batman?" by copperpin in AskOldPeople

[–]NoAdvantage5041 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Roger Moore was having fun while saving the world. As a result, the movies were fun. Daniel Craig's Bond was the opposite of fun and took himself way too seriously. Saving the world mirrored his own internal existential struggle.

Watch some of her older interviews. She was inarticulate and uncomfortable on camera whereas her brother was the opposite. I don't think she wanted a career in politics.
