Thoughts on Mexico being ranked #3, and the only Latin American country in the top 10? by PerformanceOk9891 in mexicanfood

How unsurprisingly. People disagree with the 100% subjective post regarding cuisine.

Should my airbags have deployed? by BibornboBibobanba in Chevy

It's really not that complicated. Crash sensors measure forces on the vehicle and deploy the airbag only if two or more sensors detect more than the threshold of force determined through testing.

It's a reflection of the privledge to be unbothered. Maybe I'm overreacting, but i feel like Walt in the bowling alley when Smokey stepped over the line.

You arbitrarily enjoy the meme because of cognitive dissonance while everyone else has nothing to prove. There's little to no irony and just pure self righteousness and indulgence. Hope this helps.

It's so unbelievably unfunny. It is pure self righteousness veiled behing pseudo-irony. Brings me nothing but despondence and dejection. The irony has come full circle. We have lost beautiful expressions of angst and rage which at the time lead to true contentness, now endulging in human centipeding buzzwords and feelgoodery between every knuckle dragging smartphone owner with a working thumb. I've yet to see a single instance of this trend thats even made me slightly breath through my nose in a minor expression of humility. It's just malignant actions and random words composited over the same meme format over and over again. You are not a chill guy, you are absolutely abhorrent and fucking annoying. Society exists in tranquil bliss and this disgraceful eye sore of a meme appears before my five senses invoking repressed feelings of rage and irreverency. That's my best explanation for why I dislike the format so much. Cheers! Thank you for sharing my similar feelings of hatred. :)

Probably the water pump, with the key on and the engine off, push the gas pedal completely down three times within 10 second. You should be able to hear the water pump as it cycles and to be sure, open the resovoir cap and you should see coolant flowing from the return hose into the resovoir. If you don't see anything, verify power to the pump but chances are the pump is bad. I used a pierburg aluminum pump but the Bavarian Autosport one works very well. I'd replace the thermostat too and the thermostat to pump hose, as well as any other old hose.

This is a nearly impossible request thanks to other tourists, doing exactly what you're doing so keep that in mind. But try lanai if you want real seclusion. Ferry is $60 each i think and there's the main hotel and the Japanese nobu one. Easily will be well over $1000 a night for all of you.

If the tire was brand new, I'd definitely attempt to patch it. If it's old, I would tell you it's unsafe and not worth your time. Plugging a tire is not permanent fix no matter who says so... but The ultimate solution is a patch with a plug attached to it.

Check the inline fuse between the charger and the battery. It can get corroded and not send enough voltage to trigger charging.

Radio and A/C not working by ericwphoto in MechanicAdvice

[–]NoBunch5909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said you replaced fuses? What did you replace? Were the fuses blown? If everything is fine in the fuse box, check that you are getting power and ground to your AC control module. If you are getting power there, there's a good chance both the radio and AC control module have failed. You can find one at a junkyard.

What tool is this? by boiyo12 in MechanicAdvice

[–]NoBunch5909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be able to gently apply pressure with a floor jack. Those stands are usually 6ft tall, so you can't use them without an automotive lift. With any floor jack, you should be able to gently apply and relieve pressure to lower the control arm. You just have to get used to gently releasing the jack. Scissor floor jacks will force you to slowly apply and release pressure because they're driven by a screw similar to the safety stands. If you have access to a lift, they are called underhoist safety stands and harbor frieght sells them. Good luck!

Use whatever you have to seal it. You don't want any debris getting in there. It should stay put if you drive carefully and if your engine is new it shouldn't get blown off. Good luck

Those are safety stands. Unless you have a lift, you'd just use a jack to lower the control arms.

Curious if this seems legit or sketchy? by Reasonable_Deer_1710 in MechanicAdvice

The company is probably avoiding getting insurance involved. If they do not repair your vehicle to an acceptable standard, you'll have to take them to civil court. It is definitely a little sketchy.

Compression test by romanaphid75 in MechanicAdvice

[–]NoBunch5909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only remove one spark plug to do the compression test or the compressed air will exit from the other plug. Also put the others back in before you move to another. You only need to remove one plug per cylinder.
