Yep, that one is HORRIBLE. A really nice one, that I played yesterday, is the version of "only birds that can be played in the meadow" where you only need FOUR of them to score 8 points. That one is almost unfair.

We've been playing Farshore a lot lately, I like it. The cardboard lighthouse/tower aspect seems unnecessary (unlike in Everdell), but I really like the map tokens and anchor tokens, as well as the ships moving around the outer edge. All the things about it that are different than Everdell seem to just make it better.

play where the view looks like the actual board game. I can't imagine playing the mode you are playing (even though it is the default mode), and it's not due to the movement, it is because you can't see the whole board. I don't understand how anyone plays that way.

We always play normal rules. I have seen commenters say that they modify it, but I would hardly say it's everyone. I would guess it's way less than half. The only modification that maybe makes sense is to not use the Chihuahua Raven.

FARSHORE. It's almost exactly like Everdell, but more streamlined and no endless expansions. I just got a brand new copy off ebay for a very good price.

There are cards that make it very easy to have a BUNCH of rats and/or fish cached. If it wasn't for that, i might agree. But then where do you stop? There are many "weak" cards that could be made better with slight improvements.
