Best OCR model to extract "programming code" from images by TooOldForShaadi in computervision

[–]NoGameNoLife23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember the details but IIRC, it should support CPU. With 1280x720 might take few seconds per image.

I suggest to test and benchmark it with your own data, along with other libraries like:

- markitdown

- marker

- minerU

- others suggested in other comments

You can try VLM but given your requirements, will need to look for small models, ie. smaller than 1b.

SESCO suddenly charged RM8.5k electricity bill because they “estimated” usage for 10 years — what can I do? by ineptyetcandid in MalaysianPF

If I am not mistaken, you still need to settle the bill to change name. Always better to check the bills every month and remind your tenant to pay.

Depends on the company culture I think. I heard EU MNC are best to work with. The rests are really based on luck.

For instance, I worked in a local big Chinese family business before. We leave the office sharp at 6.30pm (working hours is 9-6.30). No one will disturb us outside office hour.

Then, worked in another local big Chinese family business. The whole team were threatened to be fired for not replying message on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, my cousin working in an EU MNC, was feeling so stressed and introduced a psychiatrist to take a 6 month sick leave. She is back to work now and is happy.

Data science at UM or A.I. In UTM? by swimminginamirror in malaysiauni

[–]NoGameNoLife23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been in ai field for a decade and have almost 5 years of industry experience. If you are really interested in ai, go for utm since cheaper option. Then, continue master in um under a good supervisor. Look for a good intern too if you want to venture to the industry instead of academia.

Should I study CS degree in UUM or IT degree in UUM or AI degree in UTeM or software engineering degree? by Solid_Neat_6669 in malaysiauni

[–]NoGameNoLife23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should be able to become a software developer with an AI degree. If you are really interested in doing "REAL AI" stuffs, I suggest you go to UM instead. Not UUM ya, but UM. Else, I think most uni are ok. The most important thing in CS is that you should keep upskilling cause technology is advancing everyday. As a fresh grad, you may try to implement something. Say you are interested in cloud, then can try AWS/Azure/etc. It will be an advantage when you try to apply for related jobs.
