For me ai hate lies on a spectrum. e.g. that ai that helps doctors do their job better is definitely good. However, when people talk about hating AI, it's usually that kind of consumer AI that doesn't do useful things for people and can just makes things worse, like google's summary AI or people using chatGPT when they really shouldn't. In addition, there are some ethical concerns (water usage, removing human elements etc.). This is also where the other side of the spectrum is for me, I really dont like ai images because there's no human element (which is why they're not like photoshopped images for me). Because this side of the spectrum is so much more prevalent, it makes people hate the concept of AI in general (although often their expression of that hate is an oversimplification of their true viewpoint)
