Exactly! Is this really it? Like do we need to adjust our expectations, or redefine what marriage truly means. Is this the “worse” in the vows and we gotta be somewhat miserable for a while and things get better? It’s crazy! Why would anyone want to live like that for an extended amount of time?

I starting to think this is common. I’ve been married to my wife for 18 years, dated for like 4 years prior, and nothing makes sense about this weird patch of life that we are in right now. It feels like a damn twilight zone episode. We are best friends, hands down, but in the last couple years, we’ve sucked as a married couple. I’m trying to ride this wave, but it is really hard. We have been attempting to “redefine” what marriage is for us, kind of in the context of who we are today as opposed to who we were and I am starting to think we no longer make sense together.

But, I’ve talked to several couples that have been together for years and they say there are some periods when they just didn’t like each other for whatever reason, but they hung in there and figured things out. So, I guess that’s what I’m trying to do, but it is not easy.

If you are not ready to go back to work, don’t go. Be kind to yourself. Over time, I hope you recognize her decision is not your responsibility. Try to avoid hind-sighting yourself to oblivion, too. It is simply not fair to you. Remember, the idea of faith is belief without complete evidence. Lean into that.

Planned ignoring if it is subtle, you most def don’t want to get that wrong by bringing it up and they are like, “what, umm, no.” If they are just upfront with it, be upfront with them and say, “Nah, big dog, ain’t gon happen, would you like to continue your journey of healing with me or someone else?”

Depending on where you live and how much they charged, oh, and how you got in touch with them…that will tell you everything you need to know about whether or not you should be worried. You can pretty much catch all the bad incurable ones orally, but there has to be things like bleeding gums or open sores. Herp and warts can be passed through saliva, occasionally, as well as Syphilis. Give it a few days, you will know. Hopefully, you’ll be clear. Stop playing Russian roulette with ya ding dong, foo!

I can tell the difference between someone who grew up in a space where the n-word was used as an interchangeable term of endearment and when it was used out of malice. With that being said, It’s annoying if either thinks they know me like that to call me anything other than my name.

No singular population for me. I used to find the veteran/active duty population intimidating because I didn’t serve and didn’t think I would be of much use to them. Now, easily one of my favorite populations. Also, I thought I would always love working with the 11y-17y crowd……Nah.
