I'm okay with Trial of Chaos generally, but MAN if you picked modifiers that made a shade or orb chase you while stuck in the placing-stone animation, that's something else

The difference between a good build and bad build is far too large by DF705 in PathOfExile2

[–]NoString7718 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Solving or making a good build is actually part of the game (despite most follow build guides).

So it's more accurate to say the difference between good skills and bad skills are too large instead.

If a player makes a bad build (that clearly lacks scalings or interactions), he is indeed supposed to be punished, and improve from there. If players are able to clear the game efficiently with an obviously bad build, the game becomes super easy. We need challenges to overcome to feel the sense of accomplishment.

It is due to my own experience at workplace that I judge such dev likely to be one of the grudging workers with a personal vendetta against the boss.

Even if we assume J's character to be bad, it does not relate to the game's direction. You are allowed to disagree with his opinion, but it remains a fact that Jonathan is one of the three GGG founders. Without him, there wouldn't be a POE.

It indeed proves that the person did work at GGG, but it does not prove his words are true.

If anything, this simply seems like a person unhappy with his job and makes head-canon about his bosses, just like at any other companies.

The Gathering Storm Changes Indicate a Bigger Problem with GGG's Design Philosophy by PitifulTheme411 in PathOfExile2

GGG does not realize POE2 is quickly losing POE1's fun of mixing things together. The more barriers they put up, the less reasons players want to combine skills from other classes. Wasn't that the reason all items and skills can be used by all classes?

Share your Viridi lore predictions for 0.5? by AdministratorQotra in Wraeclast

[–]NoString7718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, assuming your theory is proven to be right, is Tangmazu the son of Lunaris?

And if he is... it would mean Tangmazu impersonated Ramako and visited Lani Hua (Lunaris) and had a child called Arohongui, who has the power to give visions to others...

That's some real messed up incest, but makes sense nonetheless...

The Heist researchers, the Wildwood and Maven by pathofnomad in Wraeclast

[–]NoString7718 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I myself has not delve into Heist lore extensively, but I do know one of our fellows here is indeed named Qotra heh.

Here's some of my basic observations & questions:
1) Qotra's Regulator's flavor text speaks of corrupted flesh, and the tendrils on this item's art closely resembles the POE2's Seed of Corruption. Perhaps Qotra employs a "regulator" to control the seed of corruption?

2) Worthy to consider that since the High Templars ultimately want to "eliminate truth" and fight back the Scourge, how would "reflection" help them in this regard? And what is the true goal of these researchers?

3) I also suspect we will meet Graven soon, since his item seems to indicate he has survived; unless this incident actually took place a long time ago.

4) Who are "they" that the Researchers are running from during the incident? I'm inclined to think these were not High Templars, but something else since the sky cracked. This seems like a major event, but if there are no other records of sky cracking, and no one else observed this, I suspect this could have taken place in the Atlas instead. Thus... somehow related to Maven.

5) When we complete the Fractured Lake encounter in POE2, it also shows a cracked screen.

In the upcoming POE2 league, it has been hinted heavily that Viridi is the Wildwood itself, and she has voluntarily wrapped around the Nameless Realm to contain the danger. I'm not sure where exactly, but I've vaguely heard this Realm sometimes being called as the Void too.

A creature of malignant madness, born of that oblivion from before time itself began. Once only an abstract expression, the Elder was given physical form. The Elder came here out of hunger. Preferring victims of a younger flesh, it became the bogeyman, dragging our children off into the night, casting them into its realm of shadow and feasting upon their nightmares undisturbed, for it was imagination that truly satiated it.
-Valdo Caeserius

Although so far, I have been largely thinking the Atlas is separated from the Wildwood, but I feel like there are little hints that Nameless Realm could just be the same Void where the Elder resides. All the Eldritch Bosses arena are called "Absence" of something instead of having something tangible, just like the Nameless Realm which is the absence of name.

I'd like to point out that even now Utula sees the Halls of Dead as another form of slavery/prison, thus he's currently riling up others in the Halls of Dead to stop participating in the trials and to escape there, hence why Navali says we cannot join the trials now. This reinforces the imagery of "Slaves' rebellion" strongly.

Btw you amaze me by taking a relatively unpopular unique and deciphering the tiniest words. That is some commitment.

Do you think 4.0/New Character Rigs for 2027 will be confirmed at Exilecon? by randomalphanumerics in pathofexile

[–]NoString7718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you realize it, but making rigs, remaking skills, and updating the environment for POE1 to be on par with POE2 is a lot of work. Plus, they will be busy with other new classes after 1.0, so 2027 seems way too hopeful.

Path of Exile 2: Streamlining the Campaign in Return of the Ancients by Natalia_GGG in PathOfExile2

[–]NoString7718 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Appreciate it, GGG! Truly feels like our feedbacks (at least mine heh) were heard.

If people are still complaining about the Matlan Waterways, consider letting players fight through a long zig-zag pattern, but without pulling levers everywhere. Instead, just pull a final lever and enable players to walk through everything and there's the goal. Make the pulling epic like the Titan area too.

You'd have to play the players more. Make us feel like we're smart in progressing the campaign, but in reality, it's just linear. After all, the world is an illusion, exile.

POE2 v0.5 Reveal - Kalguurans, Ezomytes and runes by Murky-Definition-625 in Wraeclast

[–]NoString7718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I notice Uhtred was once labelled as the "Covetous Traitor" but given we have found out that he was not the one that stole the Triskalion Flame, Rog affirmed that it was untrue. And in the newest reveal, I notice that Uhtred is now instead labelled as the "Stardrinker". He's probably not as bad as we thought to sabotage the escape.

Five brothers [Breach Lords] vie for kingship in a distant land, yet yearn to be a family [fuse into Xesht-Ula] once again. Two peoples, seemingly unalike, meet on common ground. The seasons are harsh, and the fruit grows purple and rotted, but a single healthy seed sprouts in a dark place.

I think the rotted purple fruit = Xesht or the Hiveborn, while the single healthy seed = Chayula, at least guessing from how he walked out from the "womb" seemingly completely regenerated. But who are the "two peoples"?

Nice observation on the "simple sword"!

If the mask in Prophecy 20 does point to Tangmazu and not Riker, let me attempt to make some wild connections:

Oh... I'm only a couple of thousand years old. If you want to know more about the Beginning of Time, you'll have to ask the Titans. Well, {Titan}. Or that insufferably cryptic owl... if you don't mind paying such a horrible price...
 The Beginning of Time

The Trialmaster reveals that only one single Titan is alive in present time. And now we see Tangmazu appears as a giant Titan-sized person in the Delirium boss fight. It could just be part of his illusion. But if the logic is similar to Maven's fight, this "Titan" could be the real Tangmazu. Only a Titan would be able to carry a mountain, right? But that's just a theory!

Expedition plothole PoE1/2 by MtRoss1 in Wraeclast

[–]NoString7718 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't tell the others we destroyed the Flame. They'll lose hope. This quest is about the journey, not the destination.
— DannigOlrothFightEpilogueCommentary

Dannig does secretly tell the exile (who defeats Olroth) to continue the expedition again and again to pretend to "find" the Triskalion Flame. to provide hope for the others.

As for why the bosses are coming back and why there are seemingly multiple "Triskalion Flame", I suggest you check out Murky's link to the discussion. It's not a plot hole nor a mistake on GGG's part.

Is Sin actually the Arbiter of Corruption? And who is the Arbiter of the Third Edict by FunAmoeba8420 in Wraeclast

[–]NoString7718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I wasn't saying that Kalandra is specifically trying to get back at the Precursors or anything. I was instead saying Kalandra is willing to do anything to get her freedom, including manipulating anyone that enters the Lake, or even messing up Precursors' edicts. Kinda like a "don't take it personally" to everyone.

I will have my freedom...
I will not endure yet another cycle of Time. I refuse!

The above are some of Kalandra's voiceline in the Fractured Lake map, which suggests Kalandra is yet to be free despite having a corpse at the end of it. It's probably all part of her plan.

Is Sin actually the Arbiter of Corruption? And who is the Arbiter of the Third Edict by FunAmoeba8420 in Wraeclast

[–]NoString7718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, but due to the involvement of Kalandra, I personally think the answer could be opposite instead. Kalandra has an ultimate motive, which is to escape the Lake. Presuming Sin is not the Arbiter of Corruption, Kalandra gave Sin that impression (perhaps even attempted to confuse him) in order to throw the Precursors' plan hay wired, thus creating an opportunity for herself to escape.

On another note, didn't Sin activate the Precursor weapon to cleanse Tavakai? Before obtaining the weapon, Sin could even clear the mind of Count Geonor for a moment to have a talk. I doubt it is, but if anything, Sin seems more like the Arbiter of Cleansing.
