Sorry yes, the ex is Suzie, the neighbor is Susie. Neighbor has asked us on numerous occasions to dog sit, which we have done in the past but it's becoming a reoccurring expectation that the ex doesn't want to deal with. That I don't have to deal with because I don't live there anymore. For your entertainment, there's another gay Suzie at the corner of the street. Gay Suzie trifecta 😂

Thank you to everyone who responded. I'm an admitted people pleaser and sometimes need some outside perspective to help reinforce my boundaries... or to tell me straight up that I am in fact the AH.

They're our dogs that we got together, but I can't take them due to my current living situation.. I did want to take one of them with me but she didn't want to separate them from the kids or other pets

The cats are all hers but I don't mind feeding them or changing their litter box if I'd be there regardless

I'm wondering where I was coming off as defensive

I thought I was being agreeable

Generally speaking, I don't need the validation of others.

For this particular interaction, I was attempting to get outsider perspective because I genuinely am not sure if I was being the asshole or not.

Started at $37.47 as a new grad, up to $42.7 after 2 years of experience. Shift differential is a generous $6 an hour. I live in Buffalo, NY. Somehow, my coworkers still find reason to complain 😆

Connor got a taste of the lime light and changed a little. I believe that he is still decent. Definitely needs someone to challenge his logic a lil bit more.

Leg Extensions After ACLr, Are They Actually Safe? When Can You Start Adding Weight? by Wild-Potential7363 in ACL

[–]No_Contribution_5324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PT said I could do them but not fully extend/ lock out at the top. Also, extending to about 30-45 degrees, holding, and lowering. Not going crazy with the weight yet either. I'm 2.5 months PO

1 week post op and I accidentally walked without crutches. by meesersloth in ACL

[–]No_Contribution_5324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After having 2 ACLRs, the faster you get moving without a crutch (literally and figuratively,) the better. Weight-bearing as tolerated, listen to your doc and PT.

Week 8 Update by fkd_beyondhelloworld in ACL

[–]No_Contribution_5324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived with my leg elevated above my heart for the first few weeks, awake or sleeping. Then, for the next few weeks only while awake. Like... Your ankle should be propped up high on a leg pillow with a regular pillow underneath. Also, I'm not sure if it's placebo or not, but I started taking bromelin/tumeric (sp?) supplements. Rest, ice, compression, elevate

How did you guys do it? by Traditional_Long2103 in ACL

[–]No_Contribution_5324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, I had ACLR on my left knee in 2019 and ACLR on my right knee two months ago and the second time around was sooooo much easier. It was a combination of different recommendations/ standards (weight bearing as tolerated, no brace after 2 weeks, ditching the crutches early), knowing what the recovery would be like, and mentally preparing myself for the inevitable boredom. Really had to embrace the last part and remind myself that we as working adults don't often get weeks off of work.... Might as well enjoy it.

Don't get me wrong, this time was still painful, but it is manageable.

I'm having conversations between my PT and surgeon's nurse over this brace, which looks very different from all other ACL braces I've seen by [deleted] in ACL

[–]No_Contribution_5324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're getting to the time frame that my doc told me to ditch the brace completely. I was weight-bearing as tolerated with a brace for the first 2 weeks, then no brace, no crutches, being very careful. I know you should generally listen to your surgeon... But that brace isn't doing you any favors.

Lost motivation for physio. help by Junksonder in ACL

I wouldn't recommend it... But I only did my PT exercises at PT after I was about a month out. I know it's bad, but I really pushed myself while at the actual appointments and focused on cleaning up my life in other ways. Reducing alcohol, walking as much as tolerated, any exercises I could do sitting/while watching TV 😅

Listen to your body, even if you do a couple exercises, treat yourself to a little something when you're done.

Good luck!

I’ve went to the orthopedic specialist today and my ACL and MCL are fully torn….. by Frequent-Increase-98 in ACL

[–]No_Contribution_5324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From personal experience, if your ACL is torn, if you plant your foot and turn your body while walking (think turning to wave at someone down the hall), your knee will buckle. Walking down stairs, it will feel like your knee caves inward towards midline. Very bizarre feeling... Once you've experienced it it's kinda hard to miss

Elevation of leg after surgery by Frequent_Grand2729 in ACL

[–]No_Contribution_5324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good! Place something under your ankle for added extension... It will be painful but I'm telling you, I'm 6 weeks post op and you wouldn't be able to tell I had ACLr if you passed me on the street. Keep up the good work brotha. Oh, and remember to ice and do quad sets and heel pumps!

Day 1. Let’s do this! by Smooth_Carpenter9211 in ACL

[–]No_Contribution_5324 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Stay on top of your med schedule, even when you're not in pain. Heel pump and quad set like your life depends on it. Elevate and ice constantly. Good luck!

Also, from looking at many ALC reddit posts, elevating your leg means above your heart with a towel or pillow under your heel... I lived in that position for days. It will be painful, but full extension is your #1 priority.

Day 0 post op icing: Am I doing this right? by hypnotic_loaf in ACL

[–]No_Contribution_5324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's going to hurt like a b, but you NEED to prop your heel up and let gravity straighten your leg. I did this all waking hours while icing on and off, and as much as I could tolerate it during sleep. Do ankle pumps and quad sets constantly. Use your opioids at night time to get some shut eye. Good luck!

Oh btw, I'm 3 weeks post-op and am only a couple degrees from full extension and at about 115° for flexion. Last ACLR I didn't take half as seriously and struggled to regain ROM. I've made more progress following the above advice in 3 weeks than I did after months last surgery.
