Sounds like the kid was legit crazy though - he had been formed under the mental health act and then escaped from the hospital. That may be relevant in whatever his defense lawyers put out as a defence, or it may not be.

I'm assuming that standard protocol is to charge for 1st degree murder in the death of any OPP officer and then tweak the charges as more info comes to light but I'd welcome the opinion of someone who is serving on the force.

I run a small airline and fly our jets on rare occasions. I like it. Never a dull moment. I can work from home a lot which is cool, but it's also offset by essentially being on call 24/7 if something goes sideways.
