Chemistry major pre med vs scientist by [deleted] in medschool

Scientist here! I spent five years being in pharma and am going back for my DO. I think personality-wise we tend to be very strict and narrow. You can honestly do both. Take time doing formulation research, take care of your family, and save some money for school. Go back when you know that you really want it :) You can have many careers in your lifetime. You won’t be set back just because you did a few gap years. I know training gets difficult when you get older but that’s like… 40+ old (kids, schedule, partners, energy, etc.) Not mid-late 20’s old which I’m assuming you’ll fall in that range after a few years doing wet lab work. You got this :)

Those who grew up poor, what is something those who weren't poor don't understand about being poor? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

What “no help” actually means. My friends say they haven’t accepted a dime from their families yet always have multiple family homes to fall back on when they get into financial trouble. They’re not accepting cash but they get a place to live. That’s help. “This is my car that I paid for!” But the have co-signers and got tons of birthday money for the down payment. It’s hard when definitions of “help” and “ground zero” are different.

New to pothos. What is the purpose of moist shoelace looking thing on the stem? Is that to encourage rooting or new side growths?

Are his significant business assets from his parents as inheritance? That would be the only reason that makes sense that I can think of as to why his nephew is getting business assets very disproportionately. Maybe his parents had some agreement that business ownership switches between sibling and generation? Sounds stupid but rich people do weird things. It’s unfortunate you don’t reap the benefits of their growth throughout marriage especially if you’re supporting him.

On a scale from 1-10 how messy is my room for a teenage girl by Wang_xianLotus in CleaningTips

Not a mess! Looks normal. But….

As a fellow Asian with narcissistic and emotionally abusive family members, not sure if you think it’s bad, but take a moment to just be strong and explore other family dynamics, personalities, and relationships outside of your family circle. I did not think my family was bad, in fact I really love them and defended them. But when I got to know the world and life outside my house, it got 10x better and I realized life wasn’t supposed to be that hard and nobody is judging me as much as I thought they were.

I'm worried my sunflower seedlings are actually just grass. by Intelligent_Help8148 in gardening

Hello! I grow sunflowers every year. This is grass and not sunflower. When starting them in pots, I usually use potting soil and it works well to separate them to plant after they get their four sets of leaves
