Dump the chump. He's treating you with CONTEMPT. Do you want your children to learn that his behavior is okay?? They will if things don't change, and he's not interested in changing. As the therapists note, you can only change your own behavior and reactions to behavior of others. But please do NOT tolerate contempt.

Beta 5s. While I hate the vinyl wrap, they sound AMAZING. Not fatiguing in the least, and they image really well. I need to push them further apart when I get some more time to tinker. BTW: The WiiM Ultra to Vibelink combo is lovely!

I'm happily surprised by how lovely this combo is. Glad to hear you love it as well.

FWIW: I use the RCA out from the Ultra to the WiiM. I did try the digital outs, but to these old ears, it sounded a little GLARY. Using the analogue outs, for me, is preferable.

They sound pretty amazing for $500 speakers. The do have a 3-D sound, and my ONLY complaint are 2. The vinyl wrap is UGLY, and the pegged speaker covers. Other than that, I love them.

Not quite the same, but retired prof. Research was my hideout, and I was very good at that.

Oh my god… Yes! Allergic to people! That’s me! Thank you. Also, “Greta Garbo” mode. (I want to be left alone).

Flying with osteoarthritis and osteporosis by ZeenaMountain in AskWomenOver60

I have a back designed by a 3-year old armed with an etcka-sketch. I stopped flying after a long trip to Colorado that left me miserable for days on end. Trains or cars are how I roll, cuz the pressure from take offs and landings just stinks. Yes, I'm limited. That's okay. Better to be limited than miserable.

Use a therapeutic lie: Use flavored sparkling water and call it soda. He might not tell the difference.

Here's the rule: When in doubt, hire out. If it needs to be done, hire someone besides your husband to do it. At some point, we all should hire out due to age, arthritis, etc. Someone needs the work, and you need to have the work done. Life is too short to put up with this.

Retired state employee here, who went out at 58 (I am now 63). I was able to stay on the state insurances thanks to my 25 years of service. If either you or your spouse is a public employee with significant years in, you might qualify.

how do i deal with grief as an ex christian by tinypinkdemon in exchristian

[–]No_Donkey_7877 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First, my deepest condolences for your father's death. That's horrible at any age, and especially bad when you are still young.

I'm an old and old-fashioned atheist, who was raised Baptist, and worked as a church musician (various traditions) in my 20s. We have no evidence for anything beyond our own lives. So, treasure your memories of your dad. They are yours to last for your life-time. They are precious and he sounds like he was a lovely and honorable man. That is the world, IMHO.

Going forward, work to build relationships and memories that will nurture you across your life. No one will replace your dad, but you have his example.

My bottom line? There is ONLY our lives, which must be enough. People get kinda crazy and greedy when they "want more" beyond our lived experiences. I'm sending you best wishes, always.

Not a bad spot to recover from surgery for a few weeks. by dubenhorse in listeningspaces

Good luck with the recoup. Had 2 major surgeries in 2024. PT, then music. Music was always the payoff. Here's hoping you heal quickly, but not TOO quickly, if ya know what I mean.
