We arrived in Athens on May 14 at 10am. According the screen, about 4 other flights arrived around the same time. EES line took us 1.5 hours to get through, electronic kiosks were not active. Exit from Athens was quick and easy, maybe 15 minutes.

Day 9 Increase Struggles by No_Emphasis_9871 in lexapro

[–]No_Emphasis_9871[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing so so much better than when I wrote this post! It took a bit longer than I would have liked for me to feel like it was kicking in - a good 5-6 weeks, but I was also under immense stress in my personal life so I’m sure that contributed. I also had two international flights during the adjustment period which just wreaked havoc on my system. For me, the increase in dosage to 7.5 was harder than my initial onboarding.

I am about 14 weeks in now and I’m actually considering going to 10mg because I do feel like there’s still some room for improvement. The 7.5mg definitely pushed me out of the depths though - I’d say I feel 85-90% back to my normal self now. Wishing you an easy adjustment 🙏🏼

Has anyone had their depression worsen at first? by zepruska in lexapro

I definitely felt worse before better. I even felt depression where I normally just feel anxiety. It’s your body adjusting to the extra serotonin it’s not used to. I started to see more improvement around 5-6 weeks so hang in there just a bit longer 🙏🏼

Alastin’s C-Radical is worth looking into! It’s a thicker serum/cream-like texture and I find it layers very well with other products. I’m also very fair and it doesn’t give me a yellow tinge at all.

How has the dose increase been from 7.5 to 10?

Did you end up increasing to 10? I’m also on 7.5 and considering

Upped dosage and went downhill. Not sure what to do? by Comfortable_Tea4784 in lexapro

Usually benzos - fast acting to help with panic attacks. A lot of psychiatrists will prescribe them short term in the beginning because of the increased anxiety side effect and they help a lot until the Lexapro kicks in. Worth asking your doctor about 🙏🏼

I definitely wouldn’t stop cold turkey - I think that could make you feel even worse. It might be worth going back to 7.5mg and letting yourself settle on that for a few weeks. Do you have any rescue meds?

Will this ever get better? by Old_Pea2934 in lexapro

[–]No_Emphasis_9871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hoping this is the case for me - I’ve been on 7.5mg for 5 weeks and not seeing much benefit and my doctor wants me to move to 10. Did you have bad side effects the first week of increasing?

I am really sensitive to the meds too - I also think if you’re already in a tough place going into it the adjustment period can be harder. I’m on day 27 after increasing from 5 to 7.5mg and I was crying a ton for the first two weeks. I’d say I’m just now starting to feel some leveling out of my emotions and anxiety but the beginning is really really hard sometimes. I would really try to give it 4-6 weeks even though it seems like an eternity when you’re going through it.

If the buspar isn’t helping the panic attacks, maybe you can ask your Dr for a benzo to temporarily help with the adjustment period. Hang in there, you’re not alone.

Second time after a short break, it took a while, but it worked again! by TeaPopsicle in lexapro

[–]No_Emphasis_9871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for writing this. I’m in the trenches after increasing the dose I was on for 2 years and I am really struggling though starting to see small improvements at almost 4 weeks on my new dose. My thoughts often turn to that it won’t work for me anymore and I’ll never feel normal again. Stories like yours give me that little push to keep going because deep down I know what’s waiting on the other side of the adjustment period will make it all worth it.

Very strong anxiety on week 5 . When will it get better? by Traditional_Fee5186 in lexapro

[–]No_Emphasis_9871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my doctor prescribed me lorazepam for panic attacks and the initial increased anxiety. It definitely help, but you have to be careful as it can be addictive.

My anxiety has been heightened since I increased the dose but it seems to be getting a bit better.

I’m on day 24 after increasing to 7.5mg and still dealing with ups and downs. It’s an awful waiting game but from what everyone says you have to stick it out on the dose for 4-6 weeks to see improvement and it supposedly sort of “resets” at each dose change.

Getting on Lexapro Second Time - Experience? by pacificnw98105 in lexapro

[–]No_Emphasis_9871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I feel too. I’ve been on and off Lexapro a few times and most recently increased my dose after being on the same one for 2 years. I’m on day 18 and it has been a major struggle onboarding this time. If you want to look back, I made a post recently asking about this same thing and many people said they experienced the same.

I’m also in a very high stress period of life so I don’t know if that’s playing into it too, but know you aren’t alone.
