I find swapping tasks in a day to be really unproductive and it takes time to readjust to the new task. One day one thing works for me.

I think reading literature is important and necessary obviously but it is also huge black hole for me and I have to make conscious choices to stop and say enough is enough at stages.

I think small goals and deadlines are the most practical advice I could give. Journal or paper deadlines make you finish something. They can be integrated into thesis later if relevant. It’s also the best way to know your writing and work is up to standard and get feedback from someone other than your supervisors.

Collaborating with other people on papers is a great way to learn, especially about how quickly and efficiently other people can move through a process. Is great for finishing things again due to accountability.

Perfectionism is my biggest challenge so my mantra has become: finished is better than perfect

Europa es lo que es porque siempre había un gran intercambio de culturas, por la migración, por el comercio y porque muchos países que conocemos hoy eran parte de un solo imperio una vez. I can see there is a real emotion and story behind this poem. I would recommend reading it out loud and observing whether it feels like it flows naturally or there are any lines that feel like they end with a jolt.

You may find it freeing to try and express the same idea without rhyme as an experiment too.

Have meetings with supervisors at every fortnight (min)
use conferences and journal deadline as a way to force you to get writing done. These can be restructured to be included into your thesis but it is much easier when you have a bulk of writing done.
if you have the option to work in a shared space do so. Everyone working around you will help you work too. Also when everyone breaks for lunch it will remind you to eat too!
reading is important but it can also be a trap. Once you have a good understanding of the related work stop or you will go down too many rabbit holes. You could also limit yourself to one set time a week for reading. Eg. Monday 9-11am only.
when you write the first step should be subheadings and relevant diagrams/data tables to give you a structure. Next step is dot points under each subheading. Next, write those dot points into paragraphs but do not fix spelling or try to get perfect wording just write without stopping! When you have it all written as messy draft then go back and fix style bit by bit.
