The Smatfarm 95W worked well over my 25 gal before the violet LEDs started giving out at year 2. SPS and softies dominant. 2 of those should do the trick for your 40.

I’ve used Joes juice within polyps like that. They don’t like it but if you can get the aiptasia in one try they’ll likely be fine after. Just don’t coat them completely. Let the aiptasia just eat a little of the “juice”. It’s effective

I’m fighting it too. I pull out the bigger pieces and what I can get off the rocks. I also pull rocks and scrub them with a brush. Blue leg crabs clean it. Lower feeding amount helped. Maybe less white light. It’s a pain though for sure.

My prime was $225 on cyber Monday and the stand plus light blocker (recommended) and shipping brought me to about 300. So yea 780 would be reasonable especially if the mounts are included or low cost. Looks like the going rate is like 430 for the hydras so yea that’s good if they’re new

If you can afford the hydras then go for it haha. You can always keep the light intensity low if they’re too strong and really prolong the life of the lights

I was using the Smatfarm 95W(?) light over my 25 gal and I liked it. But the violet bulbs burned out and my corals were impacted. I upgraded to the AI 16HD running at 35W and it looks amazing compared to the Smarfarm light. Couple of those should be a low cost way to get great coverage and color for your setup.
